How would you evaluate the difference between the Fuji Absolute 5.0 and 4.0? Is the steel construction of the 5.0 more/less valuable than the aluminum construction of the 4.0? The 5.0 is 3 lbs heavier than the 4.0 and the 4.0 is slightly more money. How does one evaluate these differences? Thanks for your kind consideration of these questions. Charle

BEST ANSWER: Charles - Aluminum is lighter, but more expensive. For all intents, they are of equal strength, though eventually steel will rust if exposed to elements. Your choice depends on what is most important to you - very slightly nicer components, price or weight? Parts wear out eventually, and something many bikers do is buy a lower end model with a good frame, and replace parts down the line.
    Hope that helps!

BEST ANSWER: How would one evaluate the advantage or disadvantage of the steel frame of the Fuji Absolute 5.0 as compared to the aluminum frame of the Absolute 4.0. Is one superior to the other? Is the 4.0 worth the extra cost? Thanks so much for your time.

    BEST ANSWER: Hi Martin,
That would be a question for our bike shop: 1 (800) 409-7669 or possibly Fuji bikes themselves.
a few components on my fuji absolute 5 .0 circa 2012, just say they are fuji brand, specifically i would like to replace the bottom bracket , crankset, brakes, and headset. anyway i like the bike and it is getting old so i want to upgrade with newer parts. where can i get the specs?, or if you can suggest a shimano groupset that would work , such as the alivio, that would be fine. thanks in advance.
