The Quiksilver roots dig back to Alan Green in 1969 Torquay, Australia. Green had started working on prototypes for a new type of boardshort using aspects of wetsuit technology. A year later the brand and product made its first presence in Australian surf shops.
Throughout the 1980’s the Quiksilver brand expanded around the world. The surf brand Roxy was introduced in 1990, as a womens version of the popular mens brand. Now Quiksilver is one of the worlds largest manufactures of surfwear and other boardsport related gear.
Sponsoring some of the biggest names in surf such as Kelly Slater and Travis Rice in snowboarding. Quiksilver also puts on some of the largest events and competitions in the industry.
