On Saturday, September 22nd the brand new Burton video “13” premiered at Windward to huge crowd of Midwest shredders. The temps dropped just enough for the day to get everyone in a hyped-for-winter mood and the crowd was ready to party.
Big thanks to the Burton crew over at Midwest Represent for bringing along some awesome gift bags and the massive prize of the night – a $500 Burton shopping spree! Good friend of the shop and Windy City Boarder, Carl Foster had the lucky spin of the wheel and hit the Golden Ticket for the grand prize. Congrats again Carl! During the movie, the crowd had a chance to text-to-win a chance to spin the prize wheel for goodies like beanies, tees, money clips and more.
We also had some delicious food from two of our favorite local spots, Redmonds Ale House and El Jardin and our good friends at Goose Island hooked up some yummy seasonal brews for the party goers to enjoy. Midwest filmer and photographer extraordinaire, Lee Larkins also showed up to enjoy the party and shoot some footage. Check out a quick time lapse of the party below.
After the movie was done, and all the beer was gone, the crowd headed over to Redmonds Ale House for the after party and had more chances to win a bunch of sweet prizes. The night went on, a dance party ensued, and good times were had by all. Thanks again to all our friends who made it out and here’s to an amazing snowboard season!

Mark down September, 22nd 2012 to head over to Windward Boardshop for a day of giveaways, food, drinks, fun times and the local Chicago premiere of Burton’s new snowboard video, Thirteen. The festivites will run all day with official premiere will be at 6pm. We’ll play the video on loop after that point for anyone who can’t make it at 6.
Oh, and there will be prizes. The Burton crew will be on site with a spin to win wheel giving away all sorts of sweet Burton gear. The best part? One lucky winner will win a $500 Windward Gift card to spend exclusively on any Burton gear of their choice.
If you’ve been to a windward party, you know what’s up. If not, wtf? Show up and love it.
