Exactly what I wanted in a boot!
My dog and I walk up to five miles a day. I have various styles of Keen boots/shoes that are my go-to for walking. I recently wore out a beloved pair of Keen insulated boots, and needed a new pair to replace them. These boots looked like exactly what I wanted, but after reading the reviews, I was worried that they were not going to be as good as they seemed in the pictures - would they be too small, would the top rub against my calf, would I be able to wear thick socks?

I absolutely LOVE them!!! They are comfortable, warm and perfect for our walks in the Michigan winter cold. I have slender, but muscular calf, and the top does NOT rub. I ordered my normal size of 9.5, and they fit perfectly. There is no need to wear thick socks - they are so wonderfully insulated that regular socks are perfect.

The zipper is short - has to be to ensure water doesn't get in - but if you have a wide foot, you may have difficulty getting them on.

It's true: You have to order a full size up for a great fit
I love these boots because of the low profile and sneaker-like footbed. Unfortunately, I read the reviews AFTER I ordered them. I have a wide foot, and in my regular Keen size, these boots were SUPER hard to get on and my toes were pressed up hard against the front of the boot. I was skeptical about going a full size up, so I called for help when reordering, and the sweet customer service rep I spoke to convinced me to go up a whole size, rather than a half (she'd been gifted a pair by her boss that was a full size bigger than she normally wears and she loves them). I was worried that the fit at a full size larger than normal would be weird, but turns out it's not. It helps me two ways: It makes them much easier to get on, and gives me some wiggle room around the front of my foot, and I think some air is essential to the fill working its magic to keep my toes warm. Bonus: I'll be able to wear thick socks with them on super cold days. My advice? Think of the oddly larger-than-normal size as your regular size under a new name :-)

Yes, I would buy this winter boot again.
Winter was extremely harsh in Wisconsin this year (2019). Both pairs of my winter boots gave out so I needed to find a new pair. I was looking for a very warm, waterproof and comfortable boot. I needed a boot to wear while shoveling/snow blowing but more importantly to wear while walking our dog and taking her to the dog park. My husband is a big fan of Keen so he suggested I buy a pair.

I bought the Hoodoo III low zip and absolutely love the boot. They are warm and waterproof with good traction. My biggest compliment is that they are so comfortable. There was no "break in" period. The first day I wore them was a four mile walk with our dog in 10 degree snowy weather. No blisters or sore feet. Wow. I want another pair!

Now I have to say one thing. Getting the boot over my ankle was hard. I'm used to wearing thick wool socks but could not get the boots on at all. I switched to a thin thermal sock and the boot went on fine. Although I don't need thick socks anymore. These boots are warm.

Go-to winter Boot
These have been my "go-to" boot this winter. I love to hike in the snow and the traction is great. I feel confident they will grip well. Only thing I would want different is slightly more insulation value.

I would buy this product again, in fact, I did!
I purchased these as a 2nd pair knowing that someday my original pair will wear out. These are amazingly comfortable snow boots. This past winter I spent many hours in them strapped to snowshoes. I went up hill, over dale, through deep snow, on packed trails, and all the while my feet were comfortable and warm! This is why I purchased a 2nd pair, so I wouldn't be without my new favorite snow boot. Also -- they are very comfy apres ski and provide good traction on packed snow in the ski area parking lot!

Comfortable! Recommend buying at least a 1/2 size larger for heavier socks. Wish the zipper was a little longer making it easier to get foot in. Love Keens!!!

I would buy this product again but with a half size bigger
I have a high arch and I can barely get these boots on with a shoe horn. I would have sent them back for a half size bigger but there were no more of those left. The zipper should go down more than what it does.

Darn near perfect
A recent transplant to winter, I was dreading the cold, snow, and ice. After researching many brands I decided to order Keen's Hoodoo's. As the reviews suggested, I ordered one size up and held my breath. My boots arrived just before the snow turned to ice and the temperature dipped to zero. These boots are darn near perfect. They are lightweight, warm, waterproof, and comfortable enough to wear all day. I wish Keen would offer them in red. Nevertheless, I am very happy I bought them.

I would definitely buy this product again.
The boots are very comfortable just like the other Keen shoes that I own. I am able to walk for miles without any foot problems even when they are brand new. The Hoodoo III were no exception.
