Are these boots good for people with wide feet?
Gary D on Oct 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Edge boot has the widest last (shape) of any of the Head boots. In a size 27 (approx. size 9 US) it is 104 mm wide. A size 28 (10 US) is 106 mm wide. In ski boot sizing you will see sizing like 27 or 27.5 both of those sizes are the same length. The difference is the 27.5 size will have a thinner insole and therefore will fit a little wider foot. If you use a custom insole there is no difference between the boots. With any ski boot it is always best to try it on before you buy. The question i would ask you is what size is your foot and how wide of foot do you have?
do the head boots have expansion at the ankle buckle?
A shopper on Feb 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, They do. The 3rd buckle over the the instep has a micro-metric adjustment and the two buckles on the cuff have the micro metric adjustment plus the 2nd buckle can be repositioned for more room and the top buckle has Head's "Super Marco" adjustment that allows you to easily adjust the top buckle 28 mm to allow for different calf shapes.
If I order a 29 and find it's a bit too big or small, is it easy to exchange them for a 28.5 or 29.5?
mike b on Nov 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I can't speak to the return policy of The House but regards to boot sizing the 29 & 29.5 are the same shell size there is no difference in the length only a difference in the thickness of the insole used inside the liner. The 29.5 has a thinner insole giving the boot a roomier fit. The same would be true for a 28 & 28.5. They are 10 mm shorter than the 29 & 29.5 so the shell is smaller than the 29's but the same holds true when you compare a 28 to a 28.5. To judge the fit when you put the boot on and get your heel all the back in the liner, buckle the boot as you would to ski, stand up and your toes should lightly touch the front, when you lean forward the toes should feel like they no longer touch the front and the overall sensation should be your foot is being held snuggly and comfortable in the boot.
