Great lightweight pack, would buy again in a heartbeat!
Replaced my Gregory Sage 55 with this pack while they hiking the Appalachian Trail. I love this pack!! So lightweight and easy! I use a hydration bladder with my inline water filter, and it fits right in the stretchy outside pouch. The only downfall I see is that my Sage had nicer bottom straps that I could attach my bivy to, whereas the Octal has a slightly different strap system on the bottom that isn't as easy to use. I utilize it mainly for a z-lite pad that I can just sort of cram into place.

Comfortable, durable and all around great pack!
Extremely comfortable and has made it possible for me to hike long distances 20+ miles in the rugged high desert carrying 25-30lbs with minimal discomfort afterward. As an Army Veteran I have a few aches and pains, but this pack fits perfectly and the wide shoulder space does not aggravate my neck. The pack is very durable, spacious and has a number of useful features. In 90-100+ degrees this pack helps keep the heat from building on my back. My only wish would be for more sinch straps across the pack, it looks bulky. I would buy this pack again and it's why I came back to Gregory for a Juno 30 Hydration pack.
