Super Fun, Smooth Ride
This Framed Wolftrax Fat Bike was is so much fun to ride. It handles bumps in the road very well and is a smooth ride. I'm a smaller woman and I was able to maneuver this fat bike well, even off road. Handled well in the grass as well as on pavement. I'm highly impressed. The frame was light enough for me to lift when I had to. I would highly recommend this Framed Wolftrax Fat Bike.

super gr8
Took the Wolftrax out for a ride last weekend and loved it. The first thing you notice is how light it feels. Must be the alloy frame and hardware. It was easy to pedal and turn, and moved smoothly along rough surfaces like torn up pavement, sandy trails and rocks. Even took it up a big grass hill! Rode like a charm. Brakes were reliable, tread had a strong grip and no slip, and I even popped a wheelie. Not a big one, but a wheelie nonetheless.

I only wish it had a more easily adjustable seat, but for everything else it offers, totally worth it.

Great bike!
Likes: does not weigh a lot even with the large tires/tubes, very easy to upgrade the components if desired, some internal cable routing, easy to add larger granny gear cog in rear and smaller chain ring in front to gain more power, and tapered head tube.

Dislikes: plastic pedals, minimal chain clearance to sidewall of tire when in granny gear, seat clamp has to be adjusted with a hex wrench, narrow bars and long stem.

After looking to get in to fat biking this winter the Wolftrax was the best one for the price in my opinion. I wanted something that was a good entry level bike that didn't break the bank and this one fit the bill.

It rode well with minimal resistance on pavement and through tall thick grass with ease. Steering wasn't as responsive as it would be with wider bars and a shorter stem. Easy fix though. No snow here yet in the midwest so I can't comment yet on performance regarding this. I will update after it does snow.

I'll definitely replace the plastic pedals as there is really no grip so to speak of and they need to be bigger to accommodate large boots you would wear in cold weather. I'll also replace the stem and bars for a more responsive front end.

I didn't realize this bike had the ability to route some of the cables internally before I purchased it. The rear derailleur cable housing is run internally and since this is a 1x drivetrain with no front derailleur you could add an internally routed dropper post or run the rear brake cable internally.

My one major concern is the ability to run a wider rear tire. The description states you can run up to a 4.8 but I'm not so sure you wouldn't have the chain rubbing on it when in the granny gear. To be fair I haven't tried a wider tire yet but there isn't much clearance with the 4" tire. We'll see..

Overall I would definitely recommend this bike. I do think it is a great price for an entry level fat bike. And let's be honest, we just want to have fun in the snow with those big tires so get out there and ride!
Great looking bike!

Wolftrax 1.0 x5
Really like it so far. I've only got about 100ish miles in it do far but the components seem solid. I went with the X5 instead of the deore because I have a plus bike with the deore and I'm not super impressed with the stock shifters with the deore. (Note both up and down on the X5 are thumb shift, no triggers). Haven't run it snow yet as i.m actually snowbirding this winter, been mainly using it as a gravel grinder. Black finish was matte which i was happy about. 4 stars just because assembly felt rushed and it took some work to true the rear brake rotor.

Why did you choose this? Store
Tried in a store and really liked everything about it. Geometry fits me well and I like the red color and 1x drivetrain instead of the 2x yellow one that was in the store. I'm 5'-6" with a 30" inseam and got the 15". I feel comfortable that I won't fall in the snow when I put my foot down.

Will this frame allow you to run suspension forks?
A shopper on May 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes I upgraded mine to a suspension fork
Do the tires need liners or slime for protection from goat heads. Lots of them in the high desert of Nevada?
Tim U on Feb 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Adding tire sealant or protectionwill definitely help against thorns
Is the 190 quick rear axle 12mm or 10mm?
Brian S on Sep 30, 2018
It is a 190 x 5mm quick release. It does not have a thru-axle.
I read on another page that the weight limit on the Minnesota line is 280-300lbs. Can the Wolftrax handle a slightly heavier rider?
Blake S on Dec 22, 2017
I checked with Framed, and it will be around the same weight ceiling.
Can the 190 rear spacing in any way converted to fit 197. Seems like you could go from 190 to 197, but perhaps not the other way around. Someone else mentioned this might be a possibility?
A shopper on Dec 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is not possible to adjust the frame to a different hub spacing. It is possible to adjust some hubs from 197 thru axle to 190 quick release and vice versa, but not the stock hubs that come with this bike. The frame is only compatible with a 190mm quick release.
Can the 32 chainring be switched out for a 28 tooth chainring? I need smaller gears, but don't know if the BCD on this crankset allows a smaller chainring than the 32 tooth OEM version.
Peter T on Nov 3, 2017
No. The 32 tooth chainring cannot be switched to a 28 tooth ring. The crank has a 104 BCD. In order to use a 28 tooth chainring we recommend upgrading to a Raceface Aeffect Cinch style crank set.
