Description: Dakine Freestyle Snowboard Bag

Practical and well-designed for everyday use, the Dakine Freestyle Snowboard Bag is a single board bag that will get your ride to the mountain without the dings, knicks, and chips. The Freestyle bag is padded to protect your board even in the bed of a pickup while the tarp-lined interior controls snow and water on the ride home. An external zippered pocket can be used to store tuning tools, so they are always on hand at a moments notice. The Freestyle bag is also extremely light at only two pounds and can be folded up for easy storage. Keep your shred stick proper with the Dakine Freestyle Snowboard Bag.

Well designed and rugged
Bought this shortly before a cross country flight (east to west coast) to carry my snowboard and boots. I really like the extra pouch on the outside being centered on the bag. Had it been off to one side I would worry that the contents (screwdrivers and rack locks) would rub against my boots which I found stowed very easily to each side of the bindings inside the larger compartment.

I really liked the tarp like lining which seemed to handle melting ice pretty well in the back of the rental car. No leaks that I saw or felt for a 2 hr drive. My board is a 157 and fit in the bag very easily with plenty of room for my boots as well. I had originally thought about purchasing the cheaper version of this bag, but then realized it didn't have any padding. While I wouldn't call the padding in this bag ample, it seemed to do the trick as when I pulled my bags off of baggage claim, everything inside seemed to be nice and tidy and no extra dings or scratches to the board or boots.

To customize the bag I also ironed on some heat transfer vinyl which didn't seem to want to stick so well, but again after picking up the bags at baggage claim on the way home I didn't see any signs of wear or tear or peeling so they must be stuck pretty well.

The only thing I wish this bag had instead of the long shoulder strap was back pack like shoulder straps instead. Funny enough as baggage claim on the way home I was thinking about that and saw another snowboard bag come off the belts with just that! Not sure how it would actually feel toting that big board on my back, but it seemed better than the shoulder strap, which I found myself not using, choosing the handle strap more often instead.

Great bag, seems pretty durable
One of the best bags I’ve seen for the price. Ripstop nylon is a plus as is the padded tarp lining. Pocket is a little smaller than I’d like, but still a great bag. If you have chunky bindings like I do it might be a good idea to order a size up from your board so there’s enough room.

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the response! It does not, but is a great option to secure and transport your board. Especially when adding clothing and other accessories to fill space.
is this good for airline travel? is it padded everywhere, or just the bottom?
jonyslo on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This is great bag for traveling, you can fit your board with bindings on as well as some accessories and clothing. The padding is the correct amount to give some cushion to protect your setup as well.
Can this fit boots too?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It’s pretty tight with just bindings, so probably not
My board is exactly 157. Would it fit or am I supposed to get a bigger one?
Kevin Ray A on Feb 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend going with the 165cm length bag because you will have a little extra room to fit accessories when traveling.
Will it fit some outerware and boots?
A shopper on Feb 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes this is one of the most popular snowboard bags made by Dakine. Depending on your boot size you should be able to fit your boots and some clothing.
Think the 165 bag could handle squeezing a 166 into it?
Adam F on Jan 12, 2019
Since it is only a centimeter you should be fine. Just make sure you take your bindings off so you have more room.
