will this work with "seatrend" and Fanatic hot rabbit as well as A 460cm carbon RDM mast, and a 400cm carbon skinny?

BEST ANSWER: Hi there,

I bought this base last year. I use it with a 430 Chinook SDM mast using a chinook SDM extension. For this to be used with an RDM mast, you will need the RDM extension.

As for the board suitability, please note that the twist-on rubber is bolted to the base with a separate bolt and the actual bolt that goes into the windsurf slot is off-center. So that's why there is no separate base plate that comes with the gadget. However, I did get a separate base plate and after careful measuring I punctured a hole on the base plate such that after screwing the bolt it got aligned with the base plate. So you will have to watch out for this -- this is unlike the Euro-pins where the rubber and the bottom bolt is a single entity and aligned dead center. Hope this helps. --sina

BEST ANSWER: The Chinook Windsurfing Base 1 Bolt Twist On Rubber ha a 15 mm or 5/8 inch bolt.
mine just broke after two seasons, is that normal?

BEST ANSWER: Usability on the Chinook Windsurfing Base 1 Bolt Twist On Rubber depends on amount of UV or chemicals it is exposed to. When I was in the Caribbean we swapped them out every year. In Minnesota we sometimes go 20 years, normal use. I have never heard of any issues with Chinook, but you might email them and see what they advise. Thanks!
I just bought a skinny mast what what base can I use? Will it fit any base mount?
A shopper on Apr 17, 2014
