Is cartel or maltavita better for freestyle?
A shopper on Oct 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Cartels and Malavitas are great bindings, you can't go wrong with either.

The footbeds are the same and the ankle straps are extremely similar. Their biggest differences are the baseplate and highback. The Cartel will be much stiffer with a 45% short glass composite whereas the Malavita has a 30% short glass composite. The Cartel is stiffer and quicker to react and less forgiving than the Malavita. The highback both have zero-lean, dial-FLAD, and the Living Hinge - but the Malavita has a bonus - the Heel Hammock. The Hell Hammock grips the back of the boot really well.

If you live riding pipe, huge jumps, and like crusing on groomers fast the Cartel is the way to go. If you like jibbing, tranny finding smaller jumps, and cruising casually on groomers get the Malavita.
