Burton Mystery Blem vs Burton Custom Mystery - Can you give me 3 differences? Maybe weight, shape and ride of the boards? Thanks - Joe
Joe F on Jan 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Joe,
It is simpler then that. The Blem version of a snowboard we offer has a cosmetic blemish on the topsheet. Otherwise the same. It comes with a full warranty and is extremely minor... like an off-set graphic. In this exact case this: http://www.the-house.com/9858btmysb15zz-burton-snowboards.html is the 2015 model and this: http://www.the-house.com/9858btcmys16zz-burton-snowboards.html is the 2016 model. The tech is going to be similar, but the largest differences are that the 2015 has a blunt shape while the 2016 has a more traditional shape. Also, the 2016 model has a hybrid profile while the 2015 has a traditional camber. Honestly these Mystery boards are really specific for someone looking for a powerful and light snowboard. Many people will happier with this: http://www.the-house.com/9852btcusx15zz-burton-snowboards.html A good board at a more reasonable price.
2016 Custom Mystery?? Wow! Burton I think hit the ball out of the park with this one, celebrating the Custom's 20th anniversary! Someone, please ride and be the first to review this mysterious marvel!

BEST ANSWER: Yep. It's a great idea. We'll be releasing a short Burton Custom Mystery Snowboard video on our YouTube channel in late August...
Matt G, how's that Burton Custom Mystery 2016 review video going? Would be really good to see what you guys think of this deck seeing as its pinnacle of Burtons range. Any chance?

BEST ANSWER: We just wrapped up the studio shoot last week and will be adding in some post production close up shots. The first and very noticeable thing about the Burton Custom Mystery Snowboard is how light weight it is. The second thing I really like about the Custom Mystery is the Dual Guard Rails sidewalls.. TPU for cush and polycarbonate for strength.
why is this peace of wood so expensive?

BEST ANSWER: Hi!
More specifically than Magic Beans, the Custom Mystery is the top-of-the-line Burton board. It is an extremely light (the lightest Burton has ever made) board that features a multitude of tech. This board will float on powder, shred the resort, and will absorb back-country shock as well as ANY snowboard available.
How much lighter is this then say a custom X? I understand you guys are probably sponsored by Burton so may not answer truthfully but is the board worth the price or are you better off getting 2 or 3 other boards?
Josh H on Nov 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Josh,
We are sponsored by no-one. The Custom Mystery from Burton is an extraordinarily light snowboard. For those people who want the lightest deck imaginable.... there is nothing better on the market. Overall, this board will handle similar to the other Custom boards, though will be a little more nimble. For me personally... skiing and boarding are a gravity based sport, and the specific weight of a snowboard is not the biggest must have on my list. It just depends on your preferences.
What does it weigh?
A shopper on Sep 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Right at 6 lbs
