Size recommendation? 5'8", 170 gear loaded, size 9 boot. Coming from a 2012 Custom Restricted 154. Was planning on going with a 154 but wondering if there's value in going down to the 150? Usually hunting for the fresh stuff and small-medium natural hits across the mountain.

BEST ANSWER: I would stick with the 154 size. The 150 will not only be smaller but it will be softer as well meaning less float in the deep stuff and less edge hold at higher speeds.
I'm a very new snowboarder and the Burton rep suggested this board for me - I'm definitely getting the Photon boot but still deciding on the Malavita or Step On. Plan on pretty much staying on groomers. I'm 6 feet and about 188 lbs. 1) is this board too much for me ? 2) should I be getting the 158 or 162? 3) which of the two bindings do you suggest?

BEST ANSWER: I know you probably decided on the board since you asked in 2019 but I thought I'd answer. This board is primarily for pow riding but can easily be used for crusing groomed snow. Definitely more for the seasoned rider. Might not be the best choice to start out. As for size, it really comes down to hight and preference. Some like a shorter board bc its easier to move around/control. If you're just riding the groomed snow the 158 would be solid. For bindings, I've never been a fan of step-ons but thats my preference.
