So if the carbon plus is for warmer conditions does it still ski well in firmer snow and when it is colder? Will a intermediate skier feel much of a difference?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Todd; These plus skis will handle perfectly fine in colder conditions. The issue is that the flex and the grind (bottom of ski) of the plus ski are optimised for slightly warmer conditions. These are very subtle issues and unless you are a very accomplished skier you are not going to notice it - specially because the glide wax you use on any given day is going to be an even bigger issue.
These are very good skis. This is the model new in 2014 - a model which is just now being upgraded in 2018/19 - so they have had very good luck with them. Happy Trails!

The camber and the white base are designed specifically for warm slushy conditions. Probably not the greatest skis for dry deep freeze conditions but unless you are an aspiring world cup racer you likely won't perceive any loss of performance at temperatures a few degrees below the freezing point. I certainly don't. The weight range is important though. Madshus recommends 5-20 kg over your body weight for this skis at length proper for your height and conditions they are meant for. That said the Plus skis are somewhat special while the Cold are more versatile IMO.

Thank you everyone for your responses! Todd, I wholly agree with all of the answers provided. You definitely can still ski it in every condition. The noticeable differences, to an intermediate skier, will be slim to none. Have fun out there!

This ski has a transparent (white) base and a flex profile designed for warmer wetter conditions. You can ski it in colder firmer conditions but it will likely be slower than a ski specifically designed for those conditions

As an intermediate probably not, remember this is a lightweight high end racing ski, I use it for racing only, I train on older skis.

These are purely for plus conditions (gray base for dirty and very wet/damp snow). Not recommended as “all around" ski.

Yes, you can ski on them in colder, firmer snow. But they won't be as fast as a similar ski with a cold ground base.

BEST ANSWER: Hey Connor,
The numbers in the parentheses are the recommended weight of the skier in kilograms. It indicates the relative stiffness of the ski. Heavier skiers would want a stiffer ski. Actually much more important for classic skis than skate - but still relavent.
I bought a pair of these Madshus Skate skis last fall and had very good luck with them! They are a relatively easy and forgiving ski to use. Plus a fantastic price for basically the same ski they are still making in 2018.

Skiers weight in kilograms. A way to grade the given pair of skis stiffness. To make it a little more complicated, for some models Madshus recommends to go for skis stiffer than what those numbers suggest. See Madshus website.

Do you mean like 95-110 after 195? In the selection menu?
195 cm length and skier weight between 95 - 110 Kilograms

The numbers are the recommended weight of the skier in kilograms. Multiply that number by 2.2 to convert to pounds. Ski fast!

If the-house advertised full retail price is correct likely 2015-2016 and certainly not older than 2014-2015. Nordic ski design/construction tends not to change from year to year. Use a high quality, not inexpensive waxing iron. I was just advised at my first race (not on these skis) this past weekend they are thin in the tips and tails hence their light weight.
