Description: K2 Sideseth Skis

Taking cues from its creator, Seth Morrison, the K2 SideSeth continues to develop big mountain tendencies. This ski is the backcountry skier's dream. The SideSeth has evolved in its width and weight. It has progressively gotten wider and wider in order to be able to withstand harsher terrain, but K2 has also offset the width with a lighter wood core. With this, K2 has avoided the sluggishness of a pure fat ski and instead added pop and life to the ski. The SideSeth also has a powder tip meaning that its a little thicker than the norm and has a little bit of rocker to it ensuring that this guy will float through the pow.

Key Features of the K2 Sideseth Skis:

Another Brilliant K2 Ski.
Age 58, weight 155 lbs, poster child for leftover skis. This is the widest of three K2 skis, Annex 98 (177 cm), Annex 108 (170 cm) and SideSeth (174 cm) purchased this year.

Conditions today ranged from frozen granular, dust on crust , untracked and cut up pow to mank. Open relaxed carved turns were easy to initiate, hold and finish in all referenced snows in low to moderate angle terrain. Tighter turns were also easy to initiate on edge and skid out . It did not take a lot of energy to get this ski to perform well. Additionally, they
carve and skid effortlessly in, over and around bumps.

Based on my experience with this ski, I would recommend K2 SideSeth to skiers who are looking for a ski to get them from stash to stash or cruise effortlessly through fresh or spent snow.

Disclosure. This review was based on my first day out on them. I was skiing with a head the size of a small planet
(head cold) and proceeded rather delicately. An update may be posted as more time is clocked and higher angle terrain becomes skiable.

How would this ski for someone around 5'6 and 135lbs?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Elijah, it really depends on the size you are looking at in the SideSeth. My husband is 6'2", 210 and we bought him the 181cm. Compared to his old racing skis he loves these in the powder and has a lot of fun with them on the slopes. I hope this answers your question.
