Description: K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis

The widest ski in the A.M.P line, the K2 A.M.P. Aftershock excels off-piste, but still has enough power to carve trenches in groomers and hard pack. Is the pinnacle 85/88 similar?
Frizzi on Apr 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Aftershocks are an all-mointatin ski meaning they ski powder OK, but are really at home on groomed and in bumps. The current K2 ski that is most similar to the Aftershock is the Ikonic 84. The Pinnacle line is more of a free-ride ski meaning mostly powder and off-piste. It has a shorter contact area for the length of the ski because the tips and tails are rockered up more to help the ski plane up on top of deeper snow. Both are excellent skis (I have the Pinnacle 105s for my powder skis). So, it comes down to what you ski. Groomers, bumps, cruddy snow and some powder, the Aftershocks (or Ikonics) are the ski for you. More off-piste and deeper snow, go with the Pinnacle and I'd suggest the Pinnacle 95 as a great compromise ski.
5'6" 175 lbs intermediate. Ski pacific northwest Mt. Hood conditions, all around from woods to Palmer glacier. Should I go with the 167 or 174 length? Thanks!
A shopper on Sep 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Definitely go with the 167. I am 5'8" 170 pounds and an advanced to expert skier. I ski everything Crystal Mountain Washington has to offer and the 167 is perfect. At that length, you'll get a ski that is maneuverable in the bumps, handles well in the steep, is stable at 60mph on the groomed, and handles all but the deepest snow well. This is my third pair of Aftershocks in the 167 length and it is the best all-mountain ski I've ever owned.
Is this ski compatible with the 90mm Marker Griffin binding?
A shopper on Mar 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That’s a perfect binding for this ski (Marker Griffin 90) and what I put on mine. This is my third pair of Aftershocks and I love them!
My grandson is 129lbs. 5'10", is the 167cm the proper size for him?
He joined his school ski team & coach said 'all mountain' skis
Therese V on Dec 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm the same height and find this size ski works very well for me. Love the K2 Aftershocks. Experienced many different rentals and found I liked these the best consistently.
How stiff is this ski? If we went shorter could a beginnermanage them?
Frizzi on Apr 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Aftershock has a sold medium flex - not too soft or stiff.
Are these skis "flat" so they will take any binding?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2016
Yes you are correct. "flat"
Will these fit salomon z12 or sth12 bindings?
A shopper on Mar 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 90mm Salomon Z12 Ski Bindings will be the K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis best.
Are the skis new . What marker bindings fit this ski and do you sell them?
Troy J on Jan 31, 2016
All of the skis we offer are new... unused skis. This version of the K2 AMP Ski is from the 2013 model year. It has a waist of 86mm, and a 90mm brake width binding will be ideal. Here are some 2016 compatible bindings: or
