Really like the graphics and the price seems right for my first wakeskate.

Of all the $99 boards on here, which is the best for a total beginner. I am 5'9" 160 lbs but want my wife and kids to learn as well. Thoughts?

Best Answer: I bought the wakeskate, it is a good board, but not for beginners. If you have wakeboarded before and beyond the basics of wakeboarding, this wakeskate is ok, but it for intermediate. Since the skate has no rails on the bottom and comes with VERY small fins it is a little slippery. I changed out the fins for a one that is a little deeper and longer and it fixed the issue. Once I got the hang of it, it was a lot of fun. My guess is that 144 is also a little big for someone that is 5'9 and 160, especially for your kids and wife who are smaller. I am 6'5 225lbs, I need the extra surface area. I would try something smaller.

Would this be a great board to start out on?
A shopper on Jul 23, 2013
Best Answer: Depending on your size, yea. I weight 185 5'10 and it works good for me. And im a beginner. Kinda heavy, so when u go to start learning tricks, you will eventually need to upgrade..
