Whitney T asked: I tried on last years volcom jacket. A large was tight at the bottom, but big everywhere else. I tried on the 2014 medium and it didn't even zip. I am wondering if the large from last year and this year are really that different? When I look at the sizing guide I would be a xl in some places and xxl in others. I'm concerned it would be way too big. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks Oct 21, 2013

Matt GStaff: Hi Whitney,

Volcom has always done a great job of providing different fit types across their outerwear line. Some jackets have a more street/casual inspired slim fit, and others have very technically functional larger fits.

It'll all come down to what style you want and the appropriate size within that style.

Let us know if there's anything you want us to pinpoint. Thanks for the question.

Annie: Matt, that's a very helpful answer. Can you please add which type of fit this jacket is - street/casual or technically functional? I'm assuming the latter but I need to know so I can decide what size to order based on how tight I think it will fit. Thanks. Dec 29, 2013
