is it good to go a size big for layering ?
Joel H on Sep 3, 2014
Best Answer: I bought this in black towards the end of last season as a spring riding jacket. Im 5'9, 150-ish, and went with large. It's a little big for my personal everyday style, but it's fine for riding with a hoodie underneath. With just a t-shirt or a long sleeve/thermal it's kinda big though. It's a bit wide and long in the body for my liking, and the cuffs on the sleeves are pretty wide. I have them cinched (they have Velcro) as far as they'll go to keep em around my wrists stop em from covering my hands to almost the knuckles. When you have a hoodie on underneath though it fill is out nicely. So my advice would be if you want it mainly for riding/wearing with a sweatshirt underneath then yes, it's OK to go a size bigger (at least in terms of medium vs large), but if you want it more for everyday spring/fall windbreaker I'd order truer to your normal size. I like my things a little more fitted though, not slim fit, but not long and super baggy either, so to some who do like a little more baggy a Lg may be fine for their everyday wear as well. I love it when I'm skating or riding in the spring or fall with a hoodie underneath though.

I'm about 5'5, if I got a small, would I be a slimmer fit on me?

Best Answer: Good Day.
This Volcom Coaches Jacket is designed as a regular fit top which will not be loose, but not slim or fitted either. An S will slim it up a bit, but use the size charts to make sure an S will still fit you!
