Staff Review

What you’ve looking at is the Vans Aura snowboard boot. Super nice snowboard boot from them. Kind of based off the high standard chassis.
You’ve got the Vans light sole which is basically like a fylon like material. Rubber in target areas just to increase the grip. The fylon is used to reduce the weight. Does have some gel impact in the heel. Definitely going to take those hardpack landings and kind of fight the chatter you would get riding high speed on the uneven terrain.
From there, you’ve got a leather & cordura construction on this one. A different textile on this one, fabric none the less. Really light weight, definitely waterproof. Big new thing on this one is going to be the dual Boa. Really like the dual Boa snowboard boots because it gives you two different zones, actually three when you count the overlap. What that allows you do to is you’re always going to rock the bottom part really really tight, but say you’re doing smaller mountains, park stuff, less demanding conditions, you can rock the upper park loose and it becomes a softer flexing snowboard boot, but you still have good heel hold with the bottom part holding you in there. If you’re riding bigger mountains, more advanced terrain, uneven terrain, powder, stuff like that, really crank on the upper part it’s definitely give you a stiffer, more supportive snowboard boot. Boa lace cable super durable, definitely been proven for many many years now. Vans is actually the first company to jump on a partnership with them. So they definitely know how to work the technology. You got a coiler, Boa, on the top one which is really nice when you take it out, it will suck the cable back in rather than you sitting there having to this forever with the older snowboard boots. Just makes it a lot easier to get into them.
That takes us to the 3D molded tongue. Definitely nice at sucking up to your shin and the top of the foot. Doesn’t deform when you get the pressure from the Boa rocking on it. This one will have an internal lace harness. Really easy to slide toggle that will stay in place all day long and it holds not only your heel back in the liner, but the whole liner in the back in the snowboard boot too. I insist on these in my snowboard boots. Speaking of liner, here’s a pretty nice one. Got a heat moldable liner. It’s body heat active, they don’t mold these on the towers at the store. You just rock them right out of the box. They’re super comfortable and they only get more comfortable the more you wear them. You’ve got a nice micro stretch panel in the toe here. Allow you to wiggle your toe a little bit more and that’s going to promote blood flow to the extremity, keeping your whole foot warm. Felt on the bottom here, going to really protect you against any kind cold emanating up from the snow. 3D molded tongue, just like the outer. It’s got a little Velcro tab that keeps it centered so you won’t slide around throughout the day. Deep Achilles’ pocket, really holds the heel really well and then from there you’ve got a nice ankle grabber, one again, for the purpose of heel hold and just to kind of protect the ankle too.
Last but not least, we got the insole. We’re looking at a dual component in this one. It’s a nice soft cushy foam. Definitely going to add some shock absorption along with that fylon sole. Nice arch support, really deep heel counter, and then it does have extra squish on the bottom here with like a softer, rubber-type compound. Just an awesome all around snowboard boot. Flex in this bad boy s going to be in the middle of the road somewhere around a 6. Intermediate to advanced, kind of crush everything snowboard boot. Definitely a cool one to check out, it’s the Vans Aura snowboard boot.

  • "Great all around boot"

    , AURORA, CO
    Pros: Adjustability, Lightweight, Lacing Cons:

For me, the boot fits true to size, but I would still suggest that you go try one on before you buy it. For a dual boa, this is on the cheaper end, but there's nothing cheap about it. The construction feels solid, the dual boa corrects all of the problems I had with a single boa (and makes the boots flex really adjustable), and it's just a really light boot (minus the really high end ones). You have a lifetime warranty for the laces which is nice. Holds your heel in place. The laces do come undone about once a day for me, but give it a few spins and it'll tighten right up. The only problem I've had with these is that it took me a few days to break in, but that isn't even really a con. Overall great boot, and for the money you can't find a better double boa boot. Highly recommended.

  • "awesome boots"

    , Hillsboro,, OR
    Pros: comfortable, warm, pricing Cons:

i bought these boots last season and they are awesome. i borrowed i believe they are called k2 scouts and these were way more comfortable for one and my feet stayed warm...the price is good especially for getting a double boa system which again is awesome. if you're looking for a comfortable boot even this for beginners is real nice. it has some flex and can be a tad stiff but you dont notice it.
