Following fifteen individuals through their interpretation of this winter, Absinthe forges another unforgettable snowboard film with it's newest release. Optimistic?

  • "Fun but uneven."

    , MINNEAPOLIS, MN
Pros: Wolle's part., Mikey Leblanc ripping on a toboggan. , Nico's part. Cons: Uneven (like most absinthe),

I like Absinthe movies, but do find them a little overrated. They always seem absolutely killer in trailers when you take the best shots, but they are, IMO, edited in a way that makes them seem really uneven. Cinematography's great, riding's great, filming's great, but somehow the movies don't click for me. I loved parts of this movie (especially those listed above) but overall it felt like less than the sum of its parts.

  • "All time favorite snowboard flick? "

    , Salt Lake City, UT
Pros: Great riders, Tons of steezy pow, Danny Davis Cons: Nothing,

I love Absinithe films movies. They really are in their own element. They haven't switched over to the HD stuff and it shows. The film has so much more character than other vids of this same year. Danny Davis is the stand out in this film to me. It's great seeing him on huge powder kickers. Also, most of these films feel like a story somehow and this one is no exception.

  • "Awesome :D"

    , AL
Pros: significant, carry great weight, addicting to watch Cons: Nothing,

I own this DVD and I also saw 2007 yeah, the winter wasn't really good, it hasn't snowed a lot and ... It's the worst winter ever. And the meaning : Are you optimistic? Global Warming? Signal to Global Warning. The film is also good maked. I always love the Flipside ( Making-Of ) Well, that's it. I hope I could help you !

Pros: Gigi Ruf, pow!!, good music Cons: none.,

Gigi's part was so good. For a film that sets out to show the effects of global warming, they sure found a lot of fresh snow. The movie is pretty chill and very entertaining to watch. If your a street rat, you wont enjoy this as much. Can't beat donovan's season of the witch as a song either!

  • "Oldie and a goodie"

    , Sydney, NSW
Pros: Gr8 creativity, MFM in the bmx park is wicked, Cons: bit old but its still great,

This is the best video I've seen in a few years! There are so many make shift snowboard filming crews now, that there are a lot of sub par movies on the market, but Optimistic is a def. buy. The filming is amazing, there is a great mix of rails/park, backcountry/Free riding, creativity with different terrain (Gigi Ruff in Canada at a BMX course). MFM has one of the best parts he has ever put together. His part has some great tricks and I've never laughed so hard during a snowboard video with his Spray Section. Gigi & Mueller put together great parts again, Mikey Leblanc shows he jibs better than you on a 6 foot toboggan. Plain and Simple, if you are a fan of good, progressive riding you are going to love this movie!!!

  • "Toboggan"

    , Rocklin, AL
Pros: Toboggan Skills, Back country, Rails Cons:

Plenty to go around with this video. Features a good amount of all types of terrain. Features the sport with more history than snowboarding, tobogganing.

  • "It's Nice!!"

    , Englewood Cliffs, NJ
Pros: Nico Mueller, Gigi Ruf, Powder Cons:

I hate rail videos and Absinthe always delivers year in year out.

  • "More pow, less park"

    , Torrance, CA
    Pros: Great pow footage, Cons:

I can only watch so much rail footage before I start to get REALLY bored - so this is the vid for me. There's heaps more pow/backcountry footage in this one, and that suits me just fine. Of particular note is the killer noboarding footage.
