"defenders of awesome"
Like the previous reviews said, a lot of rails and urban riding in this video. I thought that they could have balanced it a little better with more park and backcountry riding to give it a little more variety but I guess that's what their riders are doing. I thought the soundtrack went well with this video and was very high energy.
Defenders is more in line with the usual snowboarding videos that have been produced lately... plenty of technical riding in urban areas; lots of rails, rails and more rails with a wee bit of backcountry mixed in. Scotty Stevens part is jaw dropping with his insane 1 footed bag of tricks. The female riders in the movie were impressive. All in all an entertaining video but seems like it's nothing I wouldn't find on youtube or vimeo. I guess after watching TAoF, other movies just seem a bit blah.
"Good not great"
I was expecting alot out of this movie. If you look at team videos from Forum or Rome they are on point and make you want to ride those boards. This vid is just OK, but not great. It tries to be street but there are better street videos out there. The AMMO vid is better IMO at street. The back country also is just OK. I don't like how 80% of the riders land back seat on their tricks. I want to see them stomp stuff clean. I think it's a function of the RC tech in the boards but that's another story. My main gripe about the vid is the editing and filming. It's not that great. A lot of the BC shots are way far out. The editing just doesn't flow as well as I like it to.
