Staff Review

D-Mac, talking about the Thirty-Two Prion snowboard boots. This snowboard boot is definitely one of the bestsellers we got in the shop. A lot of bang for the buck on this one for a price point snowboard boot. What you’re looking at, flex on this one to ten scale, probably going to be right about a 3, maybe a 4. Really good for entry level to intermediate all mountain rider or entry level to intermediate freestyler as well too.
Key features on this one, you’re going to have a traditional lace system. Definitely designed to kind of look like a skate shoe. Thirty-Two is really well known for their short toe to heel length, so if you’ve got bigger dogs, definitely going to keep you from getting the toe or heel drag. Metal lace hooks at the top, going to be really durable. Won’t crack if you throw them down on the ground after the day is over. Full rubber sole on this one. Gum rubber, so it’s going to have really good grip on the ice. Pretty aggressive pattern on this one too, so it’s good for hiking up the pipe, or hiking the back country.
From there, you’ve got 3D molded tongue, really good at forming to your foot. It’s not going to bunch or crimp in the instep area. Definitely ready to rock right out of the box. That rolls into their level one liner. Fully heat moldable. You can rock these right out of the box and the heat of your foot will mold them or you can take them into a shop and get them molded on the heat towers. Has the lace attached to the liner, with a really easy to use lace toggle. Definitely locks in place and holds all day long.
From there, you’ve got the furry cuff, which is always good. Definitely adds a style point to the snowboard boot and is just going to be really comfortable on the top there where you usually get the pressure. Really good Achilles’ pocket, as with all Thirty-Two snowboard boots. It’s going to give you really good heel hold. From there you move into the level one insole. Which is going to be, once again, super furry. Really comfortable when you mold the snowboard boots, if you do do it on the heat tower, make sure you take these things out.
And that wraps up for the Thirty-Two Prion snowboard boots. One of our best-selling snowboard boots. Definitely wicked price point, wicked snowboard boot.

  • "Soft boot"

    , HARRISONBURG, VA
Pros: good price, confortable, Cons: really soft,

For it's price that boot rocks on. It has great fit and real comfort. However I find it too soft for my 200lbs. I guess if you are lighter it will not soften so quickly as mine. So I do not want say it's bad one, just not the right one for heavy guys.

  • "Great light, comfortable boot"

    , WALLINGFORD, CT
    Pros: Comfortable, Light, Flexible Cons:

Boots are nice and light, comfortable, soles have good grip. Sizing was tricky, fit best in a 10, but after 1.5 seasons [30 days] boots seem too big. I did however buy 2011 Prions, just sized smaller. Overall, just make sure they fit properly. They are comfortable, light, inexpensive boots.

  • "Kind of made my feet numb"

    , BALLWIN, MO
Pros: Nice flex, true to size, Cons: made my feet numb at first,

I had to use these boots a lot to break them in without the heat molding, but in the end, they turned out great.
