BEST ANSWER: Depends on what you're after. If you don't mind tying your boots, get these. I've had both. I like these boots better, but the boa's ease and simplicity make it a tough choice.
should i get a half size smaller to make it fit better after the liner packs out?

if you feel the shoe or normal boot size you currently wear has a bit of room, then yes, go a half size smaller. As a general rule, you want your boot to be snug to prevent injury and increase board control.
