I'm confused about the sizing chart. Either these jackets run obscenely huge, or the chart is off. According to the chart, a person normally wearing a large in most jackets would wear an x-small. No idea what to get. Is this adult chart correct?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2013
Best Answer: The sizing chart is correct, it was provided by 686 to us. The Measurements are reflective of the person's body size, not the garment size.

The circumference of my chest is 42", and as the size chart show, the appropriate size for me would be an X-Large. I just tried on the 686 Mannual Iconic Insulated Snowboard Jacket in size X-Large, and it fits like it should; with enough room to wear a hoodie underneath without being too baggy.

Yes, the adult size chart is correct.

My son is 5'9 but thin, about 140 lbs. Should I get him a medium or large?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2013
Best Answer: If you haven't already, take a second to look at the SIZING CHART link that is located above the green Add to Cart button. The sizing chart will help you select the 686 Mannual Iconic Insulated Snowboard Jacket size you need with your specific measurements.
