Key Features of the Smith Variant Brim Snowboard Helmet:
I bought this helmet and really like it. I would try it on though cuz I wear a medium helmet and it is almost too small for me. I pair it up with the skull candy audio system and it works really well...no more pain caused by ear buds. I wear oakley crowbars which fit really well with it. My Electrics however do not fit well with this helmet. The venting on it is solid. Overall a well made helmet and pretty stylish as far as helmets go. Definitely would recommend and pair up with skull candy .
I picked up this helmet at a ski/snowboard festival on sale and got to use it for the first time this past weekend. It was great!
The ventilation system is awesome, it was super cold in the morning when it was snowing so I closed everything off, in the afternoon when it cleared up and the sun came out, I opened up the vents and was able to cool down my balloon head.
It looks great as well, my previous helmet made my head look HUGE. this one is more fitting and makes me look less awkward. The fit is great, easily adjustable... the strap is comfortable and it's a BOA system to adjust how tight you want the helmet around your head.
No complaints about this one, you get what you pay for. It's a little more expensive than other helmets but I really like it and for the amount of times I plan to go, I think it's worth it.
Also, my girlie friend got the woman's version of this and loves it as well
My girlfriend bought this helmet for me off of TS as an early Christmas present. First of all, the fit is great, the padding and ear cover is plenty to keep your head toasty. On the other hand, when it starts to warm up on a sunny day, the vents work well to keep you from starting to sweat. I had been eyeing this helmet for a few months because I simply think it looks great. And my goggles work perfectly with the helmet. No complaints
So I have this helmet and it is my back-up helmet when I'm back at my folk's place and don't have the luggage space for my maze. It's a nice little helmet. Fits snug and then holds even better once I put on the adjustable headband. The adjustable vents are very nice if you run hot or cold and are much superior to the maze and pretty much every other helmet I've ever used. However it is not nearly as light as the Maze (though few helmets are). Only real knock on it.
This is my first helmet and I am happy this is the one I chose. The vents on the top are perfect for keeping the dome cool. The chin strap doesn't bother me too much, unlike other helmets. The padding on the inside wicks moisture with ease. I did have a concern with the brim though but after personally taking a hit into a fallen tree stump I have no doubt of the quality that Smith uses on their product. My only problem is the adjustment part on the back tends to not move whenever you need it too and makes it difficult to adjust it properly. Otherwise it's a totally solid helmet.
I'm not totally sure how I feel about this helmet, my friend gave me one and I don't really use it either.. It was definetly an upgrade from my older simpler helmet, I could tell the quality lining and fit immediately, however for the price I would expect a little more, I do really like the visor on it, but the way the vents are designed I don't really like. Like I said my friend gave me his bc he upgraded to the smith maze and I ended up getting a giro g9 instead, both of which I like better than this helmet, but overall this is a pretty quality piece of equipmen
