Dave here at The House, talking about the Sims Helium Snowboard Binding. It’s a nice price point on this one, really easy to use binding, and a lot of high-end features for not too much buck for sure. What you’re looking at on this one it’s going to have the drum ratchet to it, really good. It gets about five clicks on the entrance and really smooth on the release. Same ratchet is found on the toe. The ankle strap on this one is going to be 3D molded. It’s going to conform to the contours of the boot right out of the box, which is nice. It doesn’t have to break in or anything like that. The toe trap is a traditional over-the-top strap and will not function as a toecap strap. From there you’ve got pretty clean adjustments on the ankle and the toe. It covers up the screw. It keeps it from catching, keeps it from getting loose. It does have a good range of adjustments here. It’s going to fit a large range of boot volumes. Other than that, you’ve got a high rack that’s been slightly cored out to reduce weight. It does have the quick adjust on the forward lean. Power from the high back is delivered to an aluminum heel cup which in turn drives it to the aluminum base plate. So obviously, metal on metal you’re going to have a really responsive binding. And the heel cup does go down to the middle of the base plate, really, you know, transferring the energy effectively to the board. To take up the chop of the icy hard pack conditions you might be riding, it’s got a full-length base plate pad, disk cover, keeps the hardware from rattling loose and gives your boot a little bit smoother platform to sit on. It does have rubber on the base as well too, and once again to aid in the dampening. It’s a good binding at a good price...the Sims Helium Snowboard Binding.
