Staff Review
Dave here at The House, talking about the
Salomon Brigade snowboard boot. This one here is the 2010 Neon edition.
Salomon, as always, is known for their extremely good, out of the box fit. A lot of other companies are messing around with the heat mold stuff where you have to mold it by walking around for a little bit to get form. You can take these pups right out of the box and go shred with them. Super super comfortable stuff coming out of
Salomon.
The Brigade here is going to feature traditional lacing system. You got eyelets at the bottom with three metal hooks at the top. It’s going to be really really durable. Not going to crack when it’s cold out. They’re not going to break if you throw them down at the ground. Definitely a good system. You have a nice little flex panel right here. When the snowboard boots flex, it’s not going to bunch up or crimp as much as some other snowboard boots would. Good heel hold too, with the laces going through this heel counter here. It’s got a full rubber sole. Going to give you really good traction on icy hardpack stuff. From there, you’ve got a 3D molded tongue. Not going to deform when you get the pressure from the laces on it. It’s really going to suck in nicely to your shin. Adhere to the top of the foot really well.
From there, going to their auto fit liner. Like I said, super good, out of the box fit. Salomon will have a nice deep Achilles’ pocket in the back there, to give you good heel hold, keep your foot from moving around. They use a furry cuff here at the top here. Just some extra style points, definitely adds a little bit more comfort to the snowboard boot. Their lacing system is super slick. They don’t have a slide toggle like everybody else uses. This one, you just pull it, push it back, and it will automatically cans in, and to get it out, you just pull down and you’re ready to rock. Super simple lacing option on that one. Insole on this one is going to be a basic shim insole. Definitely, you’re going to get most of your arch support from the liner itself. This is just to aide in cushioning. Definitely going to take up a lot of shock from icy hardpack landings or any kind of uneven chattery terrain you might be riding.
Salomon Brigade snowboard boot, super super good snowboard boot. Dope 80's neon color way to it, which is ever so popular right now.
