is the base chassis made of aluminum or plastic?
gerard l on Mar 16, 2014
Best Answer: If you look at the picture, the aluminum heel loop wraps around and goes under the ball of the feet. The actual base is mostly aluminum with a plastic base plate and plastic aesthetics. Don't let plastic stop you from buying these. I've ridden them both in the park and back country since 08 and I have never had an issue with any rome 390 binding ever to the point where I'm apprehensive to try bindings from other companies because these are so solid. Hope this helps!

i'm an old fart....50........will the Rome 390 fit on a Burton board with the slot down the middle ?
Greg D on Oct 14, 2013
Best Answer: THe Rome 390 Snowboard Bindings has a conventional, 4x4, baseplate. As such it will not work in conjunction with the Burton Channel system.
