"Saves your Noggin!"
I wore this helmet all last season and it got its job done really well. I needed a good protection helmet to keep myself from getting concussions while getting inverted. The 180 airpad system is so sweet it really makes a difference in saving your noggin and also makes for a sort of custom fit helmet. The only thing i dont like about it is that it looks really big. i would recommend this helmet to anyone that wants a lightweight and very durable protecting helmet.
This is the first helmet I've used. I used it for about 1 1/2 seasons and like it a lot. It did seem a little bulky but nothing too serious. My goggles fit on well, but they wont stay if you push em up onto your forehead (if that makes sense). It's real comfortable and warm - had to add a layer underneath on some subzero days but a great helmet overall.
This helmet is super light weight. If you take the pads from the inside out, you can wear a beanie under it. You can put headphones in the ear flap things but I never did. I fell a few times and this helmet did its job well. Looks pretty sick since mine is covered in stickers. Overall, a decent helmet for the dough.
This helmet is rad it is light ,comfortable and looks great. It also fits well with so many goggles including oakley anons dragons and electrics! It does dint fairly easily but is great if you look after it well.
its very light, comfortable, and fit is great. there's even a reebok pump action for a better custom fit. is easy to disassemble the lining and earpads for hot days. the earpads is one piece with a neck protector which i stuffed my bluetooth headphones in and works great. on hot days, it def. can use better vents. and it looks bulky compare to other helmets i was interested in, but picked this one for its fit.
"2011 RED Shawn White HiFi 'THUMBS UP'"
I found the sizing chart to be spot on with this helmet and it is extremely comfortable and insanely lightweight that you hardly notice it. It said an xl suits a head measurement of 61-63cm and I measured 62cm which was perfect. The ventilation system seems ok but not perfect. You can't adjust the openings to suit like you can on other models. On hot days I often spend time riding without it [unless I'm in the park] but I know no helmet is perfect for all temperatures. I have not purchased the red phones so I can't speak for them but overall this is the best helmet I have ridin' in. Well done RED
"does the job"
Switched from wearing a beanie to this recently and I barely noticed the difference. Keeps me warm, safe and fits well with my a-frame goggles
"i expected more"
I totally expected more from this helmet. It seemed to be the one to get. After using it a few times, I found the ear cups to fit more narrow on the head and they put a lot of pressure on the ears. The best way to relieve the pressure was to remove the padding from the cups. Also, the air system in the back never worked. Needless to say, I was a tad disappointed
I prefer red helmets cuz they fit my head really well. I've tried their mutiny and trace series and like this one much more (way lighter than either of those). Its so light that I don't notice it at all through out the day. As far as fit goes, I don't notice any difference when I use the air pump thing on it but it fits my head perfectly without it so no big deal. Haven't hit my head with this current helmet but I have with other Red helmets with a headache and nothing else so I'm assuming this is just as sturdy as their others.
like this helmet. it does its job. i like the how you have different lengths when you clip it on. the ear pads are removable for those hotter days on the mountains.
Awesome helmet. Keeps my head safe and sound and also is very warm. I like the design on the back too, good little bonus. I had to get this cause I was hitting my head a lot in the park and I didn't want to do any permanent head damage. I haven't had and more hard hits because this helmet protects me. I definitely recommend it for and rider
"All Around Good"
This helmet has a very good fit and is comfortable. It has already saved me once...I would definitely recommend. I wear a 7 1/2 hat and a large in this helmet.
"Pretty good, but cracked pretty easily"
I like this helmet in terms of fit and style, but it's not the most solid helmet around. It ended up cracking on a fall onto moderately hard snow and burton's warranty does not actually cover damage due to falls. Considering generally the only time a helmet is broken is on a fall, this makes it worthless. They'll give you a discount on a new helmet, but this discount isn't much better than buying.
Great helmet. It fits great and light weight. It doesn't bother me at all when I ride. Great protection also, saved my head more then once.
