Purchased this bike for my 8year old boy. He is a very capable bmx rider. I wanted to get him a bike he could travel some distance on and introduce him to easy mtb trails without spending a ton.
All the bikes I researched (under around $600) were "tanks" devoid of any personality, complete with cheap components and shocks that don't work too well. This bike is a single speed "classic styled" mtn bike/cruiser that looks cool and is easy to ride. A great deal compared to what is out there.
It taught him the skills he needed to efficiently negotiate mild technical trails without having to worry about gears. If trail riding consistently you may want a beefier tire. We never changed them however and his riding consisted of bike path to lift access riding at Snowmass.
Next summer we will be looking into something more mtn specific because he is ready (will have to spend some $ for sure), but I could not give enough praise to this bike for further assisting him in his growth and love of the sport. It will be in our bike arsenal for many years to come.
With regards to The House and there expedient transaction, I can't say enough. Showed up a few days early with some quality booty to match. Much props to this business.
From the minute the bike arrived it brought a smile to my face. the glossy clean finish on the bike. Its a comfortable ride, sturdy, and light. I love it. I bought it for my self, i'm 15. I did think the frame was going to be a little bigger, i realized it was a kids bike when I got it. Honestly it doesn't matter to me. SE is a great brand and i will continue to purchase there bikes.
I chose the soda pop because I am an avid single speed bike rider. I ride a track style single speed and wanted my daughter to ride a similar style bike, which is hard to find in a kid's size. My other daughter is currently riding a soda pop and loves it. It's a great bike.
Because it is an Se and my 9yo daughter has shown a strong interest in bmx racing and in my experience and from what i remember when i was younger se is one of the top names in the sport. Plus it just looks sweet and immediately throws me back to 1987 when I look at it.
Best Answer:I'd call it a mini urban style track single speed for a kid. My 7 yr old rides it on bike trails (paved + dirt) and has brought it to a pump track. Can't speak to whether it would hold up with aggressive riding or larger jumps.
I bought it to take her on faster paced rides - it's a great little bike.
Yea its a bmx racing bike, light and durable. handle bars are perfect. the wheels i got are 24in. there not fat like other bmx's there kinda skinny so if you dont like that dont get this bike. look at the wheel size of every bike Hight and width
Best Answer:It had back pedal brakes. I have to tell you this bike is MUCH SMALLER than it looks. It's a child's bike really. We bought it last Christmas for our then 11year old and it was too small even for our 8 year old. We sent it back.
