okay
I bought my saga about a year ago. Here are all of my problems. Broken pedals, crank makes continual clicking noise, bent rims, spokes keep coming loose, and the tread on the tires wore out quickkly. Some good things are the low price, low weight frame, and the half link chain. i would recomend buying new rims, tires, pedals, and crank.

Amazing Starter Bike
I am 6'2" so it was a little small at first, but I changed the bars to 9" rise and got a top mount stem, and sure enough it is perfect and I have done dirt riding and park and it has been very good.

After exhaustive shopping, this bike has everything I want for my kids to start BMX riding...100% ChroMo, 3 piece cranks, sealed bottom bracket, double wall rims, 14 mm hubs with 2 x pegs, and half link chain. The hubs are not sealed and it's not a well known brand, but for $250 it appears to be the best bang for the buck.

What is the difference in the sapient saga and the sapient saga pro bmx bike ?

Does this bike damage easy?
A shopper on Jan 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have had this bike for about 2 years now and everything is perfect. Yes there are the scratches and everything put it does not damage easily at all because of the chromoly. I would recommend new tires. these are not exactly the best out there. I would recommend the Cult DeHart Tires. Other than that this bike is pretty solid and durable

Can somebody tell me what the difference is between the saga and the sag pro...if there is one?
sam k on Nov 16, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The only difference that I see is that the saga has a 13.75 rear end length and the pro has a 14. Also the saga has a mid bracket and the pro has an american. Not sure what difference that makes though. If I were you I would go with the saga pro, I have this bike and it is great for just riding around and doing some BMX.
does the sapient saga have a sealed front hub?
Logan W on Nov 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No the Saga does not come with sealed hubs it only comes with a sealed bottom bracket.

What is the max limit for this bike?
A shopper on May 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi,
The Saga Pro has a Chromoly triangle, but is still a fairly simple bike. About 180lbs will be the max.
Which material is better,HiTen or CroMo. And what is the difference ?
A shopper on Jul 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Good Day and good question,
The 3 main BMX construction materials are Aluminum, Chromoly, and Hi-Ten Steel. Aluminum is extremely light, but does not offer quite the strength of the other 2.... leaving it for more race focused bikes. Hi-Ten is the simplest material... rather strong, but heavy. It is the least expensive of the group though, and most beginner-intermediate BMX bikes are made of it. Chromoly is lighter and stronger than the Hi-ten... the various Chromoly formulas offer the highest grade of construction, but also increase the overall price of the bike. If you are going to cruise mostly, Hi-Ten is great. If you are going to be aggressive and spending time in the park... look at a Chromoly frame.
are the front and back hubs sealed?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They are not.
How much does the bike weigh?
Dave V on Aug 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Saga Pro weighs 25lbs
What size pegs would I need and are the pegs included for the front or rear?
TJ S on Sep 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This bike has 14mm hubs front and back, so the single pair of pegs fit EITHER the front or the back. You would need to purchase another pair of 14mm pegs or 3/8" adapters for the front. Most bikes now have 14mm in the back for strength and 3/8" up front for less weight.

If you grind on side, these pegs fit both front and back, but I would get new pegs because this simply twist onto the axles with no lock pin or lock bolt, so I'd be afraid that they will spin off under heavy use.
Is this bike good for dirt jumps?
A shopper on Sep 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Got this bmx for my 14year old son and he said that he loves it for the money it is better than great
Is this bike suitable for a 9 year old to do tricks on?
A shopper on Sep 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Riding the 2 thin tires that came with the bike was firm. I had to replaced the 2 original tires for 2 fat one ( Front= 20 x 2.35 Rear=20 x 2.25 ) to matched with my weight (160 pounds). It helps a lot for doing bunny hop or jumping or any of the other tricks. I felt like riding with cushions and shocks on my bike. It is suitable for a 9 years old. I recommend getting this bike and remember to replace those 2 tires.
Does this bike have three piece cranks?
A shopper on Sep 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes. 3 piece cranks. Decent. Not top of the line but seem strong and good for a bike for this price.
Is this bike good for park?
lucas t on Jun 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Lucas,
The Sapient saga Pro will make a good entry level park bike. As you get more aggressive you might need to upgrade some of the components.
does the watch and beine and ear buds and the bookbag come with a purchase of a bike of $249.95?
A shopper on Jun 22, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes they do. However if you purchase another item, so that you're over $250, you'll qualify for a watch.
does this bike come with an integrated headset or not?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi,
The Saga Pro has a Non-Integraded (or standard threadless loose ball) headset.
Is it a cassette hub in the back?
A shopper on Nov 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the rear wheel on the Sapient Saga Pro is a cassette.
Does the bike come fully assembled?
Dave V on Aug 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: All complete bikes are sold and delivered partially assembled. Final assembly should be done by a qualified bike technician. Failure to have the bike assembled by a qualified technician may void the warranty and could result in damage and/or injury if not assembled correctly. As an industry standard, some bikes might have minor cosmetic blemishes due to the nature of shipping.
What is a hub and why does it matter if it is sealed or not?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: A hub is the middle part of the wheel that all the spokes are atached to and if its sealed if means it's strougher and it keeps dirt out of the inside of it but it is heavier
i am about 5'11'' 130-140 lbs would this be a good bike for just biking around, park, and street?
jesse w on Mar 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jesse.
The Sapient Saga Pro BMX bike is a much simpler bike than the previous one you were looking at, but it will be a good ride to cruise around on and develop some skills with. This is similar, but a little tougher: http://www.the-house.com/qfrattl20bkb13zz-framed-bmx-bikes.html
Are the front and back hubs sealed?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't think so, I'd recommend buying new wheels for it
how loud is the hub ?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The Hub on the Sapient Saga is a standard click sound.
Are all the bearings sealed? The bottom bracket is sealed according to the specs, but what about the steering, and wheel hubs?
A shopper on May 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The hubs are not sealed but I have had no problems with them and have had the bike for almost a year. The headset is not sealed either but I got it sealed by installing it myself by buying the integrated headset on danscomp.
Is the complete blackened a matte black?
Brian on May 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is. The stem, cranks, and sprockets though are a glossy black. Other than that the whole bike is matte black and in my opinion the glossy and matte colors go really well together.
Since I bought this bike for over 250, for the free gift will I get the watch and the hat or just the hat and sun glasses?
Joe M on Apr 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It depends on what we are giving away as a free gift. its hard to say what it is.
does it come with pegs?
A shopper on Jan 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It comes with one pair of pegs. Both front and rear axles are 14mm, so they fit at all positions, but they are only twist on, not bolt on pegs, so I'm not sure how sturdy they would be for grinding.
Are the hubs sealed on this bike?
A shopper on Jan 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The Sapient Saga Pro has unsealed hubs
