Great bike for the price!
The bike is awesome. Rides really smooth and quiet. I would however recomend new grips, and pedals. GT didn't spend any time on those with this build. So they are pretty cheap. Other than that it's solid. I would buy another.

GT is not the company it once was
I purchased the 2012 model on closeout which was chrome and Gold. The Fork arrived bent and the Handlebars were mis-welded; (bent) I replaced the Handlebars with Al's Rapid Transit. I practically begged GT to send me another Fork (I even told them I would pay for it!) Because it was a discontinued model, they offered no customer support, (Even though the Black one here has the same size fork.) It is incredibly hard to find a 26" BMX fork for 14mm axles. The House has good customer service and tried to help me but they got the same run-around from GT as I did. Furthermore the rims are pretty flimsy - The chrome plating was ehhh? The brake was terrible Long story short, I'm parting this bike out on Ebay and now I'm now riding a $200, 20" Mongoose Mode 900 that is three times sturdier than this bike and takes an incredible beating. BTW I'm 6ft 208 lbs...

Is it fast?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2015
Best Answer: Absolutely!
Although the bike will only go as fast as the rider can pedal; so the question remains... How fast can you pedal?

I weigh 250 and want a big boy bmx. What brand or style will hold up for street riding and curb jumping?
A shopper on Jun 6, 2015
Best Answer: At that weight, a 24 inch bike would probably be your best bet.

what do u mean by top tube ?
A shopper on Feb 15, 2015
Best Answer: The effective top tube length is the horizontal distance from the top tube/head tube junction to the seat tube. This measurement has become significant as more and more bikes are designed with sloping top tubes. Effective top tube length is one of three options for defining the length of the front triangle.

I'm thinking about racing bmx I'm 6'3 and about 210lb what would the best 26" crusier for someone of my size?
Allen I on Jan 15, 2015
Best Answer: allen, you are on the right track if you are looking for bigger bike for racing, especially since you are looking at the GT Performer. the GT Performer still has the core race bike feel to it, just on a bigger scale. It is made out of Chromoly which is a necessity in order to hold up the abuse the bigger guys are dishing out. All in all the GT Performer is hands down one of the best bikes for what you are looking to do. Hope this helps.
