I am buying my boyfriend a new bmx bike for Christmas, he is 5'5 would this bike in a 20.5 or 20.75 top tube be better? (I'm not very knowledgeable on bikes)
Alison J on Dec 11, 2014
Best Answer: Alison,
I agree. The difference will not be huge... although for the record, GT suggests that the 20.5 would be the optimal choice. I recommend you chat with our bike guys to make sure you get your BF the perfect bike. Cool present! 1 (800) 409-7669

Is it better to assemble the bike yourself or take it to a bike shop? I don't know where to locate a certified bmx tech in my area! I live In omaha Nebraska. Any tips?
suriel j on Sep 6, 2014
Best Answer: The bike come mostly assembled except the handle bars and front tire are off. The only thing you need too double check is that the h handle bars are not overtightened or under tightened. Just lift the front tire off the ground and move the handle bars making sure they move freely without any hitch or noise..

Is it possible to pedal bakwards on the bmx? Like the same as forward?
Isak R on May 29, 2014
Best Answer: No, That can only be done on a fixed gear bike. A BMX bike uses either a cassette hub similar to any mountain/road bike, a freewheel that acts the same as a mountain/road bike in practice or a freecoaster. All three of these allow you to move the pedals backwards without changing the rotation and momentum of the wheel
