Clean bike!
So I chose this bike over another I was considering because it appeared to have a more refined fit and finish. I was right. Along with some tapered tubing on the handlebars, it has little chrome wings on the white brake line, wing logo throughout. -I like that kind of thing. The dirt tires have a nice looking and smooth running tread. The seat is NOT comfy. But not too worried about getting a new custom seat.

Free extras from THE HOUSE made it even better!

GT Bump: Best value for the price on the market!
This is a very high quality build at an outstanding price. I only had about $450 to spend on a bike. I checked out this site along with 4 other popular bike websites and for this price this bike was the best build. The only other one that compared in quality (100% chromoly and sealed hubs & BB) cost $150 more. After taking off the reflectors and chain guard the bike weighed in at 24.4 lbs. With a shorter seat post this bike would be 24 lbs which is a great weight. The graphics are just stickers but they look very nice and the bike handles extremely well. The tires are great for both road and dirt. I would buy this bike many times over! You cant go wrong with it.

Is it possible to pedal bakwards on the bmx? Like the same as forward?
Isak R on May 29, 2014
Best Answer: No, That can only be done on a fixed gear bike. A BMX bike uses either a cassette hub similar to any mountain/road bike, a freewheel that acts the same as a mountain/road bike in practice or a freecoaster. All three of these allow you to move the pedals backwards without changing the rotation and momentum of the wheel

Purchasing for my son. Is this bike good for jumping? If not can you recommend something that is?
Rhonda B on Aug 2, 2015
Best Answer: It is excellent for jumping. I weigh 160 lbs and I have been riding for about 8 months. I've upgraded my front forks and recently bent my rear hub but it's mostly due to me riding with pegs and grinding everything in sight! I love this bike and it is an excellent beginner bike. I would certainly recommend it for jumping. You may have to replace a few parts here and there but overall it's a great bike and I love it more every day!

is it a god bike to do tricks?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2015
Best Answer: When I looked into it this bike is classified as a "dirt jumper" so
Peons not the best choice
For just tricks in particular, but hey it is a box bike so in the end i don't think it would matter. Hope that helps if not just look up specifically bmx bikes for tricks. And all I do on it is bunny hops and jumps, rides fast and smooth and handles great. Tough light bike!

My 11 year old son is 4' 10'' 86 lbs and a very athletic bike rider. Is the 2013 20'' Bump too much bike for his stature ?

A shopper on Sep 8, 2015
Best Answer: The the bike top tube is 20.5 inches. The sizing chart I found on the site somewhere may recommend a smaller top tube but the difference in lengths seems pretty trivial to me. Especially concidering that this bike will last as he grows into it

I am buying a BMX Dirt bike so I can race BMX dirt. Is this a good bike for that? If not, what is?
Cam O on Nov 20, 2015
Best Answer: Hi Cam,
The Bump is a simple, but sweet freestyle BMX bike. It does have a Chromoly frame which is robust enough to handle anything you can put it though. It is not super light though and as a result it may not be the idea racing bike. You may want to look at a bike with an Aluminum frame, larger chain ring, and thinner tires. Something more like this: or

I am buying my boyfriend a new bmx bike for Christmas, he is 5'5 would this bike in a 20.5 or 20.75 top tube be better? (I'm not very knowledgeable on bikes)
Alison J on Dec 11, 2014
Best Answer: Alison,
I agree. The difference will not be huge... although for the record, GT suggests that the 20.5 would be the optimal choice. I recommend you chat with our bike guys to make sure you get your BF the perfect bike. Cool present! 1 (800) 409-7669

Is it better to assemble the bike yourself or take it to a bike shop? I don't know where to locate a certified bmx tech in my area! I live In omaha Nebraska. Any tips?
suriel j on Sep 6, 2014
Best Answer: The bike come mostly assembled except the handle bars and front tire are off. The only thing you need too double check is that the h handle bars are not overtightened or under tightened. Just lift the front tire off the ground and move the handle bars making sure they move freely without any hitch or noise..

I am looking for a BMX bike for my son, that is very durable. One that the crank shaft will not come apart and under $300?
A shopper on Aug 6, 2015
Best Answer: Good Day!
With BMX Bikes, durability is interconnected with price... no way around it. For $300 you can get a bike that will survive a park, and have reasonable components. This GT Bump is actually the best option for you... Chromoly Frame and Cranks, and descent parts. It does still have a Hi-Ten Fork.... good bike though.
