Description: Framed Minnesota 3.0 Fat Bike w/ RST Fork

The Framed Minnesota 3.0 symbolizes the pinnacle of evolution of the Minnesota fat bike series.  Adopting the best features from its earlier brethren, the Minnesota 1.0 and 2.0, the 3.0 combines the affordability Framed Bikes is known for with the most desirable fat bike attributes. The Minnesota 3.0 is the most capable and advanced bike in the Minnesota line.  This bike utilizes a cross country mountain biking geometry to put the rider in a position to achieve the most leverage and power over the bike while keeping a comfortable position.  Front 150mm and rear 190mm hub spacing offers the versatility to run up to 4.8" tires while also providing a strong and stable platform to increase power transfer and control.

The Minnesota 3.0 frame has a tapered headtube, which serves multiple purposes.  First and foremost, the tapered head tube provides a wider steering base which improves control, cornering ability, and overall power transfer. Pressure and force is more evenly distributed using a larger base for the head tube-fork interface.  Second, the tapered head tube allows the rider to upgrade to the latest and greatest forks on the market, including the Framed Carbon fork, Lauf Carbonara, RST Renegade, and Rockshox Bluto.  The control aspects combined with the ability to run multiple fork options makes this Minnesota the obvious trail-slaying fat bike choice.

This ground pounder starts with a 6061 oversized Aluminum alloy frame set for high intensity riding, but yet light enough to maintain pin-point maneuverability.  The Minnesota 3.0 has an upgraded SRAM X7 2x10 drivetrain for even more range and climbing ability as well as stopping power from Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors.  The hubs and bottom bracket are sealed for a clean dependable roll.  Traction is brought to you by the Framed Minnesota 4" 120 tpi folding bead tires with lightweight tubes.  The result of this great combo is a true, take-it-anywhere, do-anything fat bike that won't break your piggy bank!

MN 3.0 with RST Renegade fork: The RST Renegade Suspension fork will turn your fat bike into a great handling off road rocket! The Renegade is fat specific to fit your bike perfectly. Adding a suspension fork will increase traction, reduce the hard hits and get you more saddle time by smoothing out the trail. The Renegade has 100mm of travel, clearance for up to 4.8" tires and air sprung with internal travel adjustment.

Fun bike. Don't like the RST fork.
The bike itself is very good. I've used it mostly in winter on packed snow. It was a lot of fun in the snow and the tires gripped well. I don't like the RST forks very much. They make a loud "woosh" sound when compressing and I think the adjustments aren't consistent. I would pay the extra for the bluto forks.

Question on Minnesota 3.0 with RST forks. Does the fork come installed if you purchase the $79 assembly? Also, I am 5.11 with 30 inch in seam. Should i order the 18?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Good Day!
If you order the build option with your bike they will put on the RST fork for you. I spoke to our bike shop and they agreed that the 18" frame is the best option for you.

Does the 3.0 have a thin wheel option?
Andrew F on Jul 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Andrew!
By the end of August, Framed will have a fattie/slim set available that will be compatible to the MN 3.0 (both trail and slick options).
What are the specific differences between the Bluto and RST front forks?
Suzanne R on Feb 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Suzanne,
Both the RST and Bluto Forks are legit, and I would be happy to put either on my bike. The RST Fork is less expensive, but will be about 1/2 pound heavier. The Bluto will be a bit more robust, but is touchier to adjust.
Does this bike come with two sets of wheels?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi,
I apologize for the conflicting answers. This is the result of the fact that Framed was offering Fattie-Slim wheelsets as a bonus for a short time. Currently, this bike will come with 1 set of wheels.

Whick size tire is better for riding on sand 4 inch or 5 inch?
Ed S on Dec 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Ed,
A bike that can handle an actual 5" tire is rare.... though for sand the wider options are going to be ideal. Look for a 4.7" or 4.8" tire depending on the bike. Minion: http://www.the-house.com/qmamif26btzz-maxxis-bike-tires.html
