Description: Framed Minnesota 1.0 Fat Bike Red

We’re really excited to introduce the Minnesota 1.0, the new Fat Bike series from Framed Bikes. It’s a fully-featured Fat Bike that solves two problems that face people wanting to get a Fat Bike…high price and lack of versatility.

The Minnesota 1.0 Fat Bike is priced under $800 but it’s not short on quality. The frameset is oversized 6160 alloy tubing. The drivetrain is SRAM commanding all 9 gears. Framed went with Avid BB5 brakes for reliable stopping power in all temperatures. It even comes stock with alloy pedals. The rims are Weinmann HL-80 Single Wall and drilled out for an excellent strength to weight ratio. The Minnesota 1.0 Fat Bike also comes stock with the Vee Rubber Mission 60TPI Wire Bead tires. The geometry on the Minnesota 1.0 has a longer cockpit than the Minnesota 2.0 giving it a slightly more cross-country feel.

Dale B: I'm a cow-trailer mostly, Slow riding, picture taking and stream fishing are some of my favorites. I didn't need all the gears & saving a few bucks is great, too. Best price that I could find for, comparable equipment & quality. Jan 27, 2014

A shopper asked: The parts spec shows single walled rims, but looking at all of the pictures of how the rim strip doesn't bulge through the drilled out holes, it really looks more like a double walled rim because of how recessed the rim tape is. Can you try to clear up this inconsistency? Dec 21, 2013

Mark SStaff: The Framed MN 2.0 Does have a single wall rim. The drilled out parts of the rim are not as big as surly, so the rim strip does not have as much room to bulge out. Dec 22, 2013

Mark SStaff: The Framed MN 1.0 comes 85% assembled. You will have to bring the bike to your local bike shop to have the other 15% assembled. If the bike is not assembled by a professional bike mechanic whom works for a bike shop, loss of warranty will happen Dec 12, 2013

Tito O: I'm pretty sure you can call into The House to get the bike at the $699.95 price but it doesn't include the free wheel set. I've ready the 1.0 will weigh around 35lbs. Feb 11, 2014
