Woodward U

This dream is a soon-to-be reality

Eat your heart out prep schools, you’ve all been outdone. The masterminds behind Camp Woodward announced earlier this week the opening of Woodward U. The school is a fully-accredited high school, which means a diploma from there is as good as any other high school, but instead of sitting through Civil War films and Spanish lessons, you get to skate or shred!

The school is located at Woodward West, in Tehachapi, CA and will feature a tutorial program at the Woodward snow facilities at Copper, as well as a study-abroad opportunity to go to Woodward Beijing! Courses will revolve around a college-preparatory framework just like a regular high school. Woodward U will also be offered with an online component, allowing students to get their work done anywhere and then drop by one of the facilities for some hands-on learning.

Woodward U is now accepting applications from BMX riders, Snowboarders, Skateboarders, Photographers, Filmmakers, Musicians, and Artists, so it seems that they have something for almost everyone. If I were you, I would start doing my homework somewhere that Mom can see your newfound love of academics, get some higher grades, and then tell her that the public school she’s sending you to isn’t really fulfilling your needs as a student.

We can’t wait to hear who the teachers are going to be, imagine having JP Walker as a guest lecturer, or a field trip to SkateLab, the possibilities are nearly endless. You could probably even get that cute skater girl that hangs out at your local park to go to prom with you if you told her it was at Woodward.
