Nike takes their mantra to heart, and when Nike does it they do it well. Last weekend the swoosh took over the tunnels in Los Angeles and attracted BMX riders from around the southland. The big idea was to give kids a chance to ride in front of a crowd, fog, and party lights to make them feel like they were in a real life Nike commercial—oh and to promote the ongoing Nike Chosen Tour.
Setup in the LA Tunnels where you’ve undoubtedly seen many Hollywood car chases go down was a quarterpipe, a swoosh-shaped ledge and some manny pads and wall rides. With all the lights, fog, and kids getting high on the pipe, it’s a surprise the police didn’t come shut it down thinking it was some sort of rave. The Nike BMX team was out supporting the new generation and judging by the video it looks like Dennis Enarson, Nigel Sylvester, and Chad Kerley had themselves a fun evening switching places with their fans.
The Nike Chosen Tour is accepting submissions for skate, surf, and BMX videos of you and your crew getting creative in front of the lens and in front of FinalCut Pro. Grab your buddies, some fresh wheels and get on it for a chance to win a huge prize package full of gear, cash, and all sorts of stuff that only a company like Nike could put up for grabs.
