How many layers would you need to wear under this shell (Outdoor Research Axiom Gore-Tex Ski Jacket) for skiing in the northeast, assuming colder conditions (i.e., windy/negative to single digit temps Fahrenheit), and an average tolerance for cold?

BEST ANSWER: You will probably want a good layer of insulation underneath. Whether that is multiple layers or just one really warm layer is up to you. It is a shell though, so you will need something in real cold conditions like that.
is this the 2015-2016 version?
Winston L on Mar 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Winston,
This is the 2015 model.
