Dave here at The House talking about the
Nitro Grifter TLS snowboard boots, a long name but a lot of tech going into this bad boy. TSL stands for twin lacing system. It’s super, super easy to use. I’ll show you on this one right here.
Basically you got the black laces for the lower zone. That will correspond with one handle. And then you got the yellow for the upper zone. Both go through this easy to use cam lock. What you’re going to do is basically to cinch them up tight, it will automatically cam once you pull it up. To get out, you pull them forward, and then there’s little nifty pockets on the side here where you can shove the handles when they’re not being used. I love snowboard boots like this that have the dual zone to them because you’re always going to rock the bottom part really, really tight. But then say you’re riding park or less demanding conditions, smaller mountains, crappy ride like here in Minnesota, you can rock the upper part loose and it becomes a softer, flexing, more forgiving snowboard boot. Say you’re riding out west, you’re doing larger table tops, half pipe, power, trees, stuff like that, you can really crank on the upper part and it will stiffen up the snowboard boot quite a bit. So with the dual lace systems, that is definitely my favorite thing other than the convenience.
This one’s going to have a full rubber sole; really, really aggressive diamond pattern on this one. It’s going to be really good at gripping icy, hard pack terrain. You got a full leather construction on this one. Definitely very waterproof; very, very durable. This one’s just a little bright with the neon going on, should be a really good seller for us with that color way. Moving into the tongue, you got a 3D molded tongue. Really, really good at sucking into the shin and on top of the foot. You’re not going to get any deforming when you crank on the TLS system. Super, super good outer there. And that moves into a very light Type 1 liner. These things pretty much are ready to rock right out of the box; super, super comfortable fit to them. You don’t have to mess around with molding them like you do with some other brands. These things are ready to go.
They do have reinforcement on the bottom too, so if you’re walking around in them after shred, they’ll hold up more so than ones that just have the open foam on the bottom. Lacing system on this one is pretty simple to use, just got a nice little slide toggle. Real easy to take on and off, stays in place all day.
Nitro, like many of the snowboard boots nowadays, will feature a really nice, deep heel pocket in the back there, really gives you good heel hold. It keeps you from slopping around in there. And then you got an anatomical footbed. A little bit of arch support, mostly going to be for shock absorption. Pretty good thickness to this one, definitely going to take up some icy hard pack madness with this one.
The
Nitro Grifter TLS snowboard boots, a super sick pair of snowboard boots. Easy TLS lacing system, awesome.
