  • "my fav helmet yet"

    , HOUSTON, TX
Pros: good snug fit, light, Cons: none,

i've tried many helmets from red to smith and i must say giro is a great brand.. this is an awesome lightweight, aerodynamic, and very comfy helmet. my favorite one i've tried to date

  • "No Brainer"

    , Adelaide, SA
    Pros: Lightweight, Customability, Cons:

After a couple of minutes wearing this helmet you totally forget that is on your head. Being able to customise the fit via the dial at the back ensures that it fits 'just right'. I trialled a couple of other helmets that friends had bought and nothing compared to the fit or lightness of the Giro. Having never worn a helmet whist boarding before I was surprised how warm it kept my head.

Pros: very light, comfortable, highly adjustable Cons: difficult to detach parts, bad ear pads wind insulation,

It's my 2nd year of snowboarding; I'd fell on my head a few times but was still reluctant to buy a helmet bcos those i'd tried @ sports authority & rei were a bit heavy and uncomfortable. I got my giro g9 from a buddy and realize this thing is amazingly comfortable. it has ventilation all over the top as one can see in the pictures. these vents can also b sealed if the weather is too cold for u. the helmet is highly and easily adjustable. I was able to fit with a thick beanie on, and it can be adjusted to snugly fit even with my beanie off bcos there is a plastic device in the rear that you can easily turn to adjust. however, it is pretty hard to detach the ear pads even though they are detachable. the ear pads have poor insulation against the wind. they probably designed it this way so that you can still hear with the pads on. i fell on my head again in my last ride @ heavenly. the helmet honestly made the impact painless for my head (unlike the other times without helmet on.) I am very thankful to my buddy who got this for me and will be sure to have it on in my future rides...

  • "Solid"

    , Rocklin, AL
Pros: Comfortable, Adjustable Fit, Cons: Odd Vent Covers,

Great helmet, has pockets in ear pads for headphones. Ear pads can be removed and helmet could be used for mountain biking or other summer activities. Vents aren't exactly easy to adjust as it involves removing flaps from inside the helmet.

  • "Great Helmet"

    , ANCHORAGE, AK
Pros: Lightweight, Warm, Comfortable Cons: none,

Wasn't to big into getting a helemt in the first place. Figured I better go to REI or some place and try them on before getting one. Went to REI saw this one and thought it looked pretty cool(better looking in person IMO). Went right ahead and got it then. So far its kept me head undented when I've had major whipeouts. Also kept my head and ears warm at -5 when snowboarding. Goggles holder on the back works like a charm and you can adjust the tightness of the helmet on the inside also adding to the pro of this helmet. Light enough to so forget your even wearing it even. Get one, you just mihgt be glad that it saves your life one day.

  • "Great Helmet!"

    , Albertson, NY
Pros: Comfort, Ventilation, Light weight Cons:

This is a great helmet! Fits so comfortably that I sometimes forget I have it on! Removable inserts let you customize your ventilation. Goggle support is great. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Favorite helmet"

    , ALBANY, NY
Pros: Sleek profile, Good occipital protection, Comfortable Cons:

After trying on several helmets from almost every brand, I found this to be the best value. It has a somewhat sleeker profile than the G10 or the Omen, and the styling looks more appealing to me than most snowboard dome-shaped helmets. Also keeps your head surprisingly warm, no need for a layer below it. Works well with my Dragon Mace goggles.

  • "Giro G9 2011 Mens"

    , LITTLE NECK, NY
Pros: lightweight, warm, adjustable, stylish, Cons: none so far,

Recently bought this helmet and was very pleased with this helmet. It feels extremely lightweight yet durable. I really like how it can be adjusted to fit just about any head size.

  • "Helmets are not for wussies!"

    , Denver, CO
    Pros: Lightweight, Warm, Cons:

I own this helmet and love it. The small fits me great. I wear Giro helmets for mountain biking, too, as these are one of the few brands that reliably fit my tiny head well. The 9 is simple and understated. I wear a thin beanie underneath mostly to keep my hair out of my face; it isn't really necessary for the added warmth. I wear glasses under goggles, and these fit easily with this helmet, even the small. I upgraded it with the Skull Candy Tuneups which sound decent and are better than earbuds all day, for sure. I am a quickly advancing beginner, and the chance of a serious fall just isn't worth it. I hardly notice this helmet is there. Wear a helmet!

  • "Giro G9"

    , Gardenvale, Vic
Pros: Fits well, Lightweight, Warm Cons:

I purchased this helmet after wearing a Burton Red for a couple of seasons. What a difference, much more comfortable especially around the chin strap and certainly warmer around the ears. Great helmet.

  • "Helmet"

    , Albuquerque, NM
Pros: Protects your dome, Not to warm, Air vent holes Cons: Ear covers would be nice,

I dont usually wear a helmet but when your kit boarding or doing some sort of high speed or high risk activity i would totally recommend protecting your head. Its too easy not to wear and get injured. The fit of the helmet was good and it seem top quality.

  • "Great Helmet"

    , Mountain View, CA
    Pros: Comfortable, Sporty, Lightweight Cons:

This helmet is definitely one of the best I've worn. It's super light, yet provides adequate protection. It looks sporty, as to not be so plain. Most importantly (besides the o so important protection), the helmet is comfortable. Even during those cold days, when you strap a mask to your face, it remains comfortable.

  • "Comfortable and Stylish"

    , HENDERSONVILLE, NC
Pros: Good look, Comfortable straps and padding , Fits head well Cons: Plain Helmet,

When i put this helmet on i loved it right away. For one it looked good. Two, it fit my head really well. Three is was a reasonable price. Overall i just love this helmet and suggest anyone buying a helmet to get this one.

  • "Comfortable, looks good"

    , SUNNYVALE, CA
Pros: Big sizes, Attractive appearance, Comfortable Cons:

Love the look of this helmet in matte black. It's light and comfortable. No problems wearing this all day. Provides enough warmth for all except the coldest days, but the ventilation prevents it from getting stuffy inside. If you can find it in XL, it's great for larger head sizes. I bought the wired Tuneups system separately, and it works well in this helmet.

  • "Great Helmet"

    , MUNDELEIN, IL
Pros: Great Fit, Great Protection, Cons: Gets a little hot,

This helmet has been great. First helmet but com paired to the rental a world of difference. The adjustable strap in the back is great to make sure of a snug fit. The padded chin strap also is nice. The only issue is that my head was sweating a lot with this helmet.

  • "Saved my life!"

    , AL
Pros: Comfort, Warm, Live saver Cons:

This thing saved my life the other day. I was being extremely careless and ended up hitting my head on a patch of ice really hard at high speeds. Was really happy i bought this helmet.

  • "Giro G9"

    , APO, AE
Pros: Light Weight, Adjustability, Cons: none thus far,

I received this helmet as a gift and so far I love it. It is lightweight and comfortable so it feels as though you are not wearing a helmet at all. I find this to be an important aspect as I won't find it a hassle to wear therefore leaving back in my truck. One of the problems I found with other helmets was the sizing. I seem to be in between sizes and find the adjustability on this helmet to be what I need. Wearing a beanie or not, is a non-issue. There is a dial in the back of the helmet that can be adjusted to give you a custom fit for any condition. Can't see myselft riding with out it. Another plus, although not important, the khaki color rocks.

  • "Good simple helmet"

    , NEW LONDON, CT
Pros: Venting, Warm, Cons: losable Inserts,

I just picked up this helmet and it is just right. It has removable inserts to cover up the vents for the cold days, but they would be easy to lose if your not careful. The G9 fits great with no major pressure points and is adjustable for a perfect fit. The goggle clip is rubber with a snap so putting on your goggles is a lot easier and it is more secure. I really like this helmet because it gets the job done and looks great without to many bells and whistles.

  • "Giro G9"

    , BISMARCK, ND
Pros: light, comfortable, very warm Cons:

Got this helmet last season and like it a lot. Only thing I need is the audio pack to make it any better. It fits really well with a small exception which is that I have a large instead of a medium, but that was my fault not the helmet.
