Staff Review

Dave here at the House, talking about the Flow Rival Boa Colier Snowboard Boot. What you're looking at here is, on Flow scale, a 3.5 out of 5. I like to step it up a notch, do it on a one to ten scale, so I'm rocking it right between a six and a seven. What you're looking at is definitely going to work for intermediate to advanced riders. All mountain riders and people looking to do larger tables and stuff like that it can work for as well.
The main thing going on with the boot is the Boa Coiler system. I really like the coilers because it eliminates one of the only problems I had with the Boa: when you take it out, on the older ones, you have to sit there forever winding the dial to get it back in. On this one, it automatically retracts in so you just have to do a quick couple twists and you're tight in there. Construction of this one is going to be full leather, waterproof, and durable. I really like what they're doing with the heel counter. It's going to give you good heel hold, suck you back into the back of the boot, and keep your foot from moving around. And definitely like the volet scale, you can get it as tight as you want, pretty much cut your circulation off if you want.
Full rubber, going to be very grippy, EBA midsole, good dampening qualities, designed to look like a skate shoe with the shell toe action on the front and then the EBA midsole in the middle. The 3-D molded tongue is really nice on the full boots. They want to match up with their binding really well, so what they do is mold every dimension (bottom, middle, top) to allow it to slide into their bindings well and keep it from deforming when you get the pressure of the boa lace cable tightening down on it. Into the liner: A dual density liner on this one. Just rock them right out of the box. It's super comfortable, and very squishy. It does have a Lycra toe panel so you can wiggle your toes to keep them warmer. It does have some support toward the back that rolls into their J bars which are going to do a good job of giving you good heel hold and keeping you back in the boot.
There's a simple lace pull on this one which is easy to cinch down, doesn't loosen up throughout the day, and is very easy to take off at the end. From there you've got just a basic insole. It's going to add some shock absorption and keep your foot centered. Definitely gives you nice arch support as well. It's an awesome, convenient boot. Combine these with the Flow bindings and you've got a really easy to use quick in and out system. Very comfortable, high end flex Flow Rival Boa Coiler Snowboard Boot.
