Staff Review
Dave McCaul, here at The House, talking about the
Flow ANSR Boa Snowboard Boots.. What you’re looking at here is a good affordable boot from Flow. It’s got the Boa lace cable so it’s going to be really easy to get in and out of. This one has a mixture of synthetic and leather for the construction. It’s going to be lightweight, very durable, very waterproof. Sole on this one is going to be a basic rubber sole. Really good grip on ice, good snow traction.
That rolls us up into the Boa system, which, if you’re not familiar with it, is a super easy in and out closure system. To get out, just pull the dial out, oops, don’t punch it back in, pull the tongue out, easy, you’re out. To get back in, clip it in, turn it until it’s tight, and you’ve got something that won’t loosen up throughout the day. Something that’s very, very durable, definitely more so than a traditional lace design. This one is nice. They keep it kind of simple, but then they do run the ankle one a little bit further back. It’s going to help, you know, suck your heel into the back of the boot, give you good heel hold, give you good response.
Flow uses a 3D molded tongue. This is designed to match up really well with their mono strap
Flow bindings.
Definitely when you’re looking at the convenience of the Boa, you might want to check out their bindings too, as they are some of the quickest in-and-out time bindings that we have in the shop, very, very comfortable as well too. From there, moving to the liner. It’s a dual density EVA liner. It’s going to fit good right out of the box. It doesn’t require much break-in. You don’t have to heat mold them like you do with a lot of companies’ stuff. Simple lace pull on the liner itself here. Slide it down, it locks into place. To get out, just pull up on the tab. Super, super simple. This one will have a Lycra panel in the toe, allows you to wiggle your toes a little bit more. That’s going to promote blood flow out to the extremity and that will keep your foot warmer than a battery powered sock would. From there, keeping it pretty here, we got basic insole, got a nice little deep heel counter here. It’s going to leave you centered in there. Good arch support especially for a boot of this price point, just adding a little bit more dampening, helping you ride over the icy hard pack stuff, if you’re riding that like we ride here in Minnesota.
Yeah, we’ve got the
Flow ANSR Boa Snowboard Boot. Super good boot, super good price, Boa convenience. Match it up with a pair of
Flow bindings and you are ready to go.
