Description: Descente Rio Ski Jacket

When the weather is below freezing, but the snow is knee-deep and powdery, you need the Descente Rio Jacket. Unlike a lot of down jackets, the 600-fill Rio keeps you toasty when the wind kicks up and the temperature drops, while employing the good looks of a normal ski jacket. The Oxkin fabric outer is super soft and ultra-waterproof, so you never have to worry about it getting too wet out. And what''s a guy to do when the sun comes back out and heats things up? The Rio features a fully removable hood and pit zips to help you keep your cool.

Key Features of the Descente Rio Ski Jacket:
  • Oxkin Outer fabric
  • Down jacket

What temperature range can it bear ? How will it cope with -20 to -30 celsius ?
Jonatan L on Nov 25, 2013
Best Answer: Possibly if you wear something under it that's substantial. Otherwise, I'd say probably not.

When I saw "down" I got worried and thought of some big puffy thing. Is that what this jacket is?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2013
Best Answer: The Descente Rio Ski Jacket only has a 600 Down Fill (this is the range rating for down garments) and as such is not a very 'puffy' coat at all. You get the benefit of down without the fat kid look.
