jayme s: Dear claudia, my son is now 11 we bought the large. He was 10 when we bought them. They are slightly big on him. However a good pair of snowboarding pants will last for more then one year. I suggest the small. Most kids would prefer a little freedom while riding then restriction. However while strapping in make sure your kid does not accidentally strap the pants into the bindings.

I hope this helps.

Kelsey J: The size of your son is a big determining factor. My six year old is above average height and the smaller were "skater baggy" on him with room to grow. If you want true to size I'd go with a size smaller than what ever you purchase for everyday pants. In addition, these are very waterproof but definitely need a good base layer underneath.
Hope this helps;-)

Patrick C: I got my youngest daughter she's 6 & a size 6x a XS & my other daughter who is 8 & a size 7/8 the small. Both fit a little big but you can pull the tabs up on the pant legs so they don't drag. The only thing I did was take the pants into a seamstress to add a full band of Velcro on the waist so I could tighten them up more as my kids are on the thinner side. Dec 3, 2013

Kevin F: I am not sure how big your Kid is but I got my son the medium and he will be 8 in feb. Use the size chart on DC's website as I found it way more accurate! Dont worry too much about the length as the shant control works awesome!!! Just size by the waist going by the DC website and you should be fine. Good luck Dec 3, 2013
