  • "Definite Buy"

    Pros: Everything, Cons:

    A definite must have for the average rider or skier. When you ride often, you should be waxing your board(or skis) ever 4 or 5 full days. It's super simple to learn how to hot wax, and almost impossible to screw up. Just don't leave the iron sitting there on your base. Look up some youtube videos to learn and buy a bit of wax, and you'll notice a huge improvement. It also elongates the life of your equipment by protecting it. Good investment

    This is great if you're riding often or have multiple boards and want to save some money in the long run rather than bringing your boards to a shop to have them tuned/waxed. Very cheap compared to buying separately unless you already have some equipment. Comes with a case for everything and it's small so it's easy to bring with you on trips or to leave in your car (or in a locker) at the mountain. I would highly recommend this if you are just learning to tune/wax, it has essentially everything you need except an iron which you can buy from any store. It even includes a little bit of wax and 2 sticks of ptex, one black and one clear to get you started on base repairs. Mine included the massive plastic dakine scraper as well as the slightly smaller metal one which was real nice. I'm glad I made this purchase, good thing to have around.

    I just used mine for the first time today! Everything was perfect. The kit is great because it's got everything you need for a full tune-up minus the iron. I priced everything out and it would have been a lot more to get the tools individually...plus you a get a handy case to keep everything organized. All the parts feel pretty good...but I'm no pro at tuning boards. The instructions that came with the kit weren't anything to learn from, but I basically learned enough from all the how-to videos out there on the internet. Make sure you buy more wax because the kit only gives you a small brick for a few waxings. Overall I think it's a great kit for the money. I'm sure there are a lot of people like me that will only wax their board like 5-8 times a season so you'll recoup the cost of the materials fairly quickly.
