Kevin P: No, the bag is only padded on the top (maybe a 1/4 inch). It is not ideal for plane travel but works well otherwise. You might want to look for bags with the term coffin as a descriptor. Those tend to be fully padded bags, often more expensive as well. Feb 28, 2014
