Michele S asked: What is the difference between ski pants and snowboard pants? Dec 19, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Rachel B: I wasn't sure at first either but here are the differences I found...

-Location of ventilation
-Additional butt padding/insulation on board pants
-Additional heavy material on inside lower leg on ski pants (reinforcement due to cuts and damage from ski blade edges)
-Usually more variety with boarder pants

Michele S: Thanks Rachel-what a great summary! Dec 23, 2013
Shannon B: Sometime snowboard pants have an extra lining on the bottom where snowboarders have to sit to set their bindings, but otherwise there is no difference. Both ski and snowboard pants come in a number of different styles. Dec 19, 2013

Paddy OStaff: Not a ton of differences. Ski Pants may have reinforced material on the inside of the cuff. Some Snowboard Pants have extra insulation/padding on the butt. Both come in a wide range of styles and fits. Dec 19, 2013

Micheal L: I have never bought ski pants but snow board pants have a little hook at the bottom front to hook onto the laces on your snowboarding boots to keep them from getting snow in there Dec 19, 2013

Shaun M: Not really sure there is a difference. You gotta be comfortable on the mountain. That's all that matters. Dec 19, 2013

A shopper asked: If I am typically a size 6 in regular pants, would I want a Small or Medium in these snowboarding pants? Jan 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Rachel B: It will depend on how you like your fit. I am a size ten and usually wear a medium but went large here and am glad I did. I like to wear sweatpants under my snow pants and like to have a little room. Also, the waist tightens up nicely if you are like me and have a wide rear end. If you like a tighter fit, you could probably go with the small but I recommend actually taking your measurements before you decide as snowboard pants fit way differently than regular pants. Haley K: I'd go with medium. I fit a 4 and wear small, and cinch interior tabs when I get around a size 2 if needed. Jan 10, 2014

Shannon B: I typically wear a 2/4 and I got a small. They fit without being snug. You could probably wear the small. Jan 10, 2014

Mary Ellen K: Small, I was typically a 10 when I bought the medium pants, and the mediums fit fine. Jan 10, 2014

A shopper asked: what is sig fit? Dec 26, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matt GStaff: Burton has this to say about the Burton Canary Snowboard Pant Sig Fit...

Tried-and-true with room for layering, but not over baggy. Leg now slightly narrower without looking pinner.
