i felt this jacket fit my needs its waterproof and is comfortable
it's everything you want in a snow jacket, plethora of pockets and features, keeps you warm as Sunday morning toast and is light and breathable to stop you sweating up a nasty storm. The only downside to such a fine piece of material magnificence is it's fit. The Jacket is designed to be worn over layers, but as its sooo warm days will arise where there is no requirement for such under garments. If the jacket, in my case, is worn without layers, it is quite baggy and can be slightly frustrating. The next one I buy will definitely be a size smaller
"The perfect Jacket"
This is my best snowboarding jacket so far. It's surprisingly warm and keeps you dry throughout the day. The sleeves are a bit long and fit is a bit baggy, but overall very comfortable. It has a lot of pockets, looks pretty cool, fits nice.
"A little large"
I own this jacket and I like it for the most part. It is an awesome full featured jacket right out of the package. The only thing bad is that it fits a little too big. I am a smaller person, so this might be only a problem for people my size, but I dont really enjoy how baggy it is. Other than that though, the styling is nice, and it is one of my better jackets.
This jacket kept me dry on a 15 degree day. But I wore under armour hoodie and under layer. The burton jacket pants to jacket feature was nice.
love this jacket. keeeps me very warm on cold days, but for extreme cold this may not be the one. love the shooter cuffs, keeps the snow out. i do like the overall design of the jacket.
This is a great shell. I have used it once so far. The conditions were heavy snow, and it kept me dry and warm (I had a thick long sleeve under it). The sleeve design is pretty cool, it actually keeps the snow out (even without wrist gaiters). I had a 686 Smarty jacket for the past 5 seasons, and this jacket had comparable performance (but not as warm because it doesn't have a removable liner). Lastly, season pass pocket (inside the bottom front of the jacket) is not the easiest place to have scanned at the lift. The Horizon (orange) is awesome, especially if you want a jacket that has some color, but doesn't stand out too much.
"Burton Slub - Awesome Jacket"
This is my best snowboarding jacket so far. It's surprisingly warm and keeps you dry throughout the day. The sleeves are a bit long and fit is a bit baggy, but overall very comfortable. Only wish is that it has a few more pockets.
this jacket is like most burton jackts i've owned/seen/tried on. it has a lot of pockets, looks pretty cool, fits nice. I didn't actually get to ride with it on, but it felt warm when I took it out for a walk on a cold evening. Sweet jacket, lots of hidden pockets.
I got this jacket a few years ago when the pixel color was around and have never been so happy with a jacket. its a little thin but the style makes up for it. truly a great product
The jacket fits me well and the arms also fit good. My arms might be a little longer and I also work out 5 times a week so I might be just a bit more bulky on the shoulders which is why this jacket fits me just right. Made a few big falls even on ice and at the end of the day it was still in one piece.
"Cool & Comfy but not for extreme cold"
I bought this jacket last summer for a bargain price and now winter's come and I'm finally wearing it out. I have to say that it fits nice in arms&shoulders but a bit baggy around trunk. In fact I don't like wearing it closed because it makes me look big. Perhaps it's that I'm just too small. However, not closing it results in the velcro sticking to the inside net which is quite annoying. It is very light and easy to wear, but a few more cloth layers underneath are more than welcome. This is Spain and I tell you that I freezed the other day. In conclusion, if you want a light jacket to wear over some layers, with many cool pockets and a really cool outlook, just buy it.
"warm warm warm"
amazing jacket it keeps you so warm it feets pretty good a little big for my liking but if you like baggy fitting jackets then its for you
This is a great jacket for any snow day. Wind and waterproof, great colors, and awesome features. Remember though, burton makes a lot of their jackets in a baggy fit, so if this is something you wanna wear everyday I suggest downsizing.
"worth the money"
i bought it on sale so i cant complain about this jacket. lets face it, its a burton. the jacket is very warm in cold weather and in warmer conditions its not too bad either. its waterproof and wind resistant but make sure when buying this u get a slightly smaller size.
BOMB A** JACKET....KEEPS YOU WARM AND DRY DURING THE COLD SEASON WITH EXTRA LINERS OF COURSE...BUT GREAT FOR SPRING RIDING AS WELL...TOP VELCRO ANNOYED ME BUT THATS WITH MOST JACKETS I OWN...SICK COLORS THIS SEASON...GREAT JACKET
Buena campera a bajo precio. Faltan bolsillos y caracteristicas tecnicas pero sirve
This jacket rocks and is a perfect fit for any person I wear it all the time and never sweat or get cold and always feel fine I recomend to everyone
It doesn't provide much heat on it's own but I've thankfully gotten away with a fleece under and a couple layers of clothes. Normally I'm the State Puff Marshmallow in winter, but this kept me light and dry outside and not sweating like a dog while on the subway. I use the bottom front pockets a bunch so the label didn't take long to peel off, for a while there it read B.O. Sleeves are a little long, but longer is better than grandma's 3/4 sleeve jackets when it comes to wind protection. I think I went outside just to put this jacket on. That says something.
"Great Jacket all round!"
Great jacket, warm when you want it too be and nice inside when zipped right up onto your face. Vents work very well when you need to cool down too! Would strongly recommend!
just a great jacket all round not to hot but plenty of room for more clothers under if you need and zips in to the burton cargo pants so you can take a big slide and stay dry, Love it.
"Slub Fruity Tiger Cool Jacket"
Ive tested this jacket out just for one day on the slopes at Perisher, it was a very light day, snowing in the morning, clearing and the temperature dropped hard when the sun disappeared. This jacket kept me nice, snug and dry. Cool shooter cuffs kept my gloves dry and the snow out. Overall jacket looks wicked. Only criticism may be that the chest pockets pop out a bit, making it look baggier.
"Good all around jacket"
Jacket fits just a bit on the big side, but not crazy baggy Other than that this jacket is almost perfect. Decent amount of pockets. Good jacket for warmer days, throw a thermal on underneath and your good to go.
Keeps ya warm and dry, the black is more of a charcoal which is awesome....i prefer to layer so that jacket is perfect for me
This jacket gives a snug, wrapping feel whilst giving room to move freely.
this jacket is pretty nice for all season boarding. the fit is a little baggy which isnt a problem for me cuz i like it baggy for movement but if you buy burton pants too you can attach both pants and jacket which make it pretty dope. good jacket overall.
A nice jacket, the only thing is that its a shell. if you just toss a few layers you are fine. i have rode with this in dumping snow and -15 degrees. so nice. it fits nice and big, so you feel nice and steezy and have enough room for the layers
I really like this jacket. It kept me nice and warm and dry. Zips up with burton pants to keep your butt dry. The hood and the part that connects to the pants are detachable so you can use it even for casual wear. I got many compliments already! Awesome jacket!
The jacket is warm, but the sleeves are way too long for me.
"Great Looking Jacket"
Great looking jacket with many options. I specially like removeable hood. Since I wear a helmet, I would not need the hood.
"Burton Slub Jacket 2010 "
I bought this for my husband and he loves it. He wears large and so i bought large...it is definitely roomy...so you might want to go size down.
"Well make, looks good, little baggy"
Just got this jacket in the other day and tried it out in the snow, but not boarding. It fits big, I usually wear a med and ordered a small and its still pretty baggy. The sleeves are really long too. For a tight fit you'll probably want to go two sizes down, but thats not how these were made to wear. Other than that its a great jacket and feels really well made. Make sure to note that this is a shell jacket (also why its baggy) and you will need to layer up under it in cold weather. Super versatile though, wear the jacket with a thermal and a fleece layer in the winter; wear a shirt and the jacket in the spring. One jacket, all weather conditions.
Nothing special about this jacket, gets the job done. Nothing really to fault it for. The sleeves are maybe a little long. I'm 5'10, 175, and would normally wear a medium, but sized down to a small as I didn't want a baggy fit. The small easily fits, and is actually still pretty roomy. I would imagine a medium must be ultra-baggy.
At first the fit seemed a bit large for a medium but then you appreciate the space when needing to layer up. Powder skirt that connected to Burton pants was invaluable in the Niseko powder. 10k waterproofing is more than sufficient. Found it strange that there was a hole to feed an earphone cord but no MP3 pocket on the inside.
I'm 5'10 & 190 lbs., was told the large was going to be to big but fit perfect. I went with the measurements and it worked for me. Color (Haze) wasn't the best but was limited in the color. Overall like the purchase especially since the original price was $249. Gave it a 4 due to the color.
"Great Jacket - Horizon "
Great jacket, I got the Horizon and love the colour, goes heaps well with my Mocha Burton Cargos. The only complaint I would have would be in regards to the size of the sleeves. They are way to long and baggy for the size of the jacket.
By itself it is a great spring jacket. On cold days you'll need to add layers.
Tried this jacket during spring conditions...it was fine at the base of the hill but towards the summit the cold wind penetrated this coat. If you buy this I suggest you get a size smaller if you want it to fit you, I usually wear a M but the sleeves ended up too far down my arm. This coat is baggy, but some of the colors are sick...so get this lighter jacket if you are riding in spring conditions and don't want to pack around your heavy winter coat
I bought this jacket for my boyfriend and it looks great. The jacket appeared very plain-looking online but the texture of the material adds some style to it. It's a great shell for spring days but roomy enough for layers. You can't go wrong with the price. In fact, I already received 2 price adjustments =)
Overall, a great product. Only worry is size. The medium (I thought) a little on the big side. Or at least the arm length for the medium was a little longer but I think that could just be me. No regrets though.
"GMP Slub Jacket"
I bought this jacket in Switzerland for a huge amount of money... but even for the price i paid i think this is by far the best jacket i have had. It is designed for all conditions and is super durable...
"Slub = awesome jacket!"
great overall its comfortable, light, doesnt restrict movement, obviously waterproof. i got fruity tiger and it looks way better in person. its just another thing that makes snowboarding that much funner
"Roomy and Functional"
This jacket is very roomy if layers are required. It's baggy, but not to the point where you look like a thug or wanna be gangster.
are the reviews i pretty much agree. if you just wearing this i say size down, if not get yourself another layer. jackets a bit thin. velcrow straps are industrial. i wore this during spring boarding without zipping up. velcrow tends to stick all over the jacket. i think it might have damage the dwr coating.
"Great shell for layering or spring riding."
Fits great over the Burton Softshell, or by itself with a t-shirt in the spring. Great look/texture for the True Black, and great fit in XL for someone with monkey arms like me (6'3, 36/37 sleeve). I usually go XXL or XL-Tall or 46L, depending on the sizing, but XL was perfect, even when layered on this jacket. Sharp enough to wear off-mountain. Great zip-in to the Ranger pants.
I got the 09 version of this jacket, don't think it changed too much since last year. Mine is a ridiculously bright color, which I love. It keeps me extremely dry, I used to always wear a Bonfire puffy jacket, which was great also, but always got too hot up in Tahoe. Since this is just a shell, like other reviewers have mentioned, you can wear layers under it depending on the weather. I usually just wear a long sleeved burton jersey with this jacket over it when it's in the low thirties (I ride sierra at tahoe), but that's mostly because I don't get cold very easily. I wear an extra sweatshirt under if it if gets cold or windy. This thing keeps me dry, and getting wet is usually what makes me feel cold, if anything. And on those warm spring days, I usually still wear this jacket because it keeps me dry when the snow is all wet, just open the vents and you're good to go. Plus, this jacket has some serious style.
This is a great Jacket. it's got lot of pockets, it's waterproof, warm and comfortable. Goes well with my Burton Cargo. Love the built in waterproof liner. Again, a great product for an awesome price tag, only at Sierra!
"Sick color, sick cover!"
Awesome full featured jacket right out of the package. Great outer jacket sized right if you layer. I wear a fleece of softshell underneath this bad boy and it really is perfect. Definitely personal preference, but I love the Horizon color which is a subtle blaze orange with a speckle pattern that breaks up the solid color look. Killer jacket...
its such a nice jacket, the only thing is that its a shell. if you just toss a few layers you are fine. i have rode with this in dumping snow and -15 degrees. so nice. it fits nice and big, so you feel nice and steezy and have enough room for the layers
"Top of the line"
This is the nicest piece of gear I own. It fits perfect. Lets in no moisture. Lets in no wind. The collar that covers your face is perfect. Tons of pockets. It has a built in waterproof liner that you can wear snapped or un-snapped on the inside. I highly recommend.
I love this jacket. It fits perfectly. It has enough pockets. Overall just a great jacket no complaints yet
This jacket has all the steeze you could want without looking like you're wearing something ridiculous. Goes well with a pair of team fit pants. The wrist velcro was the only thing I had any problem with, as it came undone and got snow up the sleeve of my jacket.
how do you access the mp3 player pocket on this jacket? its appears to be underneath the inner mesh liner but not accessible from the outside. I M DUM!
"So hot right now."
Being that I'm a taller fellow, I was really impressed with Burton making their fits just a little longer in the body this year. While I might be a bit skinny for this jacket, it has a lot of storage pockets and all of the features feel like they were well thought out.
