Awesome Jacket
I really like my burton poacher jacket. I got the heathered gray color, it is really nice and expensive looking. The coat itself is really warm and windproof, i would say. It looks alot better in person then on the picture. It is a really nice and affordable buy, and you get all the girls too. So far, no ragrets...

Great jacket
Ski season hasn't started yet but I've had this jacket out for several hours during some nasty cold and wet nights. It feels comfortably thin and not bulky at all but is surprisingly warm. Very warm! While standing around (not active) with temps in the low 30s I was plenty warm with not much other than a flannel shirt on underneath. I'm looking forward to winter with this thing. It appears to be well made. It looks good and The House has a great price on it. Recommended!

Burton Poacher / Black / Small
Dry..indeed! Warm-ish!
I took this coat out the past few days in Vermont. Temp ranges were -5 to 25. In the lower temp, I layered with a NF Summit. The NF is not a thick jacket, so, layering was no issue. In the 25 degree temp, just an UA base top, with a thermal....no issue what so ever. I'm 5'10" / 160lbs. Average build, A size small worked perfectly.
- The coat is long as others have stated
- The shoulders are tight, and the sleeves are skinny. If you pump the iron, depending on how jacked you are, you might have issues
- There is a waist gaiter that snaps to prevent snow from coming up. And, with the length, I had zero issue
- No way that hood was coming over my helmet, but, I didn't need or care
- Top pocket flap is Velcro, inside and out. So, not water proof, it will take in snow. The side of that pocket was zipper, held credit cards, money etc...no issue
- Hand pockets are warm, and held my gloves if folded. They didn't take in snow
- There was one, useless (to me anyway), inside pocket down low.
- The jacket is not thick, or, too bulky.
- It held the heat, and was very dry.
- Met or exceeded expectations. I paid $118, and found that to be well worth that amount.

I bought this jacket for my 13 year old son. He has only been able to use it twice so far but loves it. Said it kept him warm and dry.

Color not as advertized.
This is likely a great jacket. However, my son specifically wanted an orange jacket. I used the search and screened for orange and this jacket was included. The color was called burner. The jacket came and it was not even close to orange. The color "burner" is red - not even an orange red. I am returning it which is costing me an additional $10 to ship back.

Multiple pockets and very durable material. I would recommend this jacket to anyone. Sick design if you get the grey one.

The-House.com Store
Burton has always meant good quality . This particular jacket is for my son who is very broad through the chest and has large upper arms, it fits him well with ample room for movement. He chose the color and graphics and it looks cool.

what size should i get? i'm 5' 6" 160 lbs
A shopper on Mar 16, 2014
Best Answer: Probably XS, I'm 5'10 and normally like a loose fit, so I decided to get the large, but it was huge. I returned it for a Medium, which was still to large and am getting a Small. The sleeves are way to long and so is the jacket itself.

can I see a picture of this jacket on someone? trying to get a good picture that shows the true colors because a lot of different sites have pictures that make it hard to determine the true color.
Lisa D on Nov 22, 2013
Best Answer: Hi Lisa,

Check your email...I just sent you pictures of the Burton Poacher Snowboard Jacket in the Monoxide Norse King Print colorway.

What size should I get I'm 5'9" and 160 pounds (a little chubby) normally wear a large but burton runs big? Whatayall think?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2014
Best Answer: I personally have a large one and it fits me almost perfectily. I am 6'4" and 165lbs. I think it would mostly fit you comfortably, but the sleeves may be quite long. They cover all but my fingers relaxed. I actually like the longness to the sleeves, but I don't know your idea of how long you would like. If you just want to cover your wrist, don't get the large. Just sayin. It will be long. Lol. I used the coat all last season and love it a lot. I was worried that I would end up purchasing a to short of sleeve one(as is usually the case with me) but, as you mentioned, they run big, so I got it and it is nice.

I'm abit weary of using this website it doesn't seem legitimate. How can I be assured that my jacket will come to me if I pay since the prices are extremely low and seem a little to good to be true. ?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2014
Best Answer: I can assure you this website is creditable. I have purchased many items for this website and have received exactly what I bought. The House outdoor gear shop is a website for marked down gear of older year models and some new ones. I have bought jackets, pants, and even my snowboard from this site and they are all sitting in my closet right now. I love this site low prices for exactly what you want, can't beat it.

Steven on Oct 1, 2014
Best Answer: Small should fit you good. That's about the same measurements as me and it fits good. I was worried that the medium will be to long because that's how there made.

Best Answer: if you are 5 ft 4 inch, get a small or xs... Whatever size tshirt you wear, get that size. They make them alittle bigger to fit a hoodie and other clothes under the coat.

Definitely use Burton's charts to size you chest. Burton's jackets tend to fit a tiny bit loose, but I am thinking an M will be better.

Hey, I really want the Lucy's Diamonds Print, but is there any chance it will ever come in medium again? I swear when I checked it the first time it was there, and i have already bought pants to match it. Anyone know?

Best Answer: Hi Josh,
Our Burton stuff has sold really fast this season. Unfortunately this Poacher Jacket is from a previous year, and cannot be reordered. I apologize. The remaining sizes and colors are all we have left. If you goggle search "Lucy's Diamonds Print Jacket" you may be able to locate some. Or check with Burton.

Burton suggests that you would be best getting an XL in this situation. Note that you could exchange it if you decide the size is not right. http://www.the-house.com/helpdesk/returns-exchanges-backorders/

I'm worried about the size. Looking at the chart, i'm XL. Until now I used The North Face Jackets, and I'm Medium there. It cannot be possible that i'm 2 sizes larger... can someone please advise?
yairr on Oct 16, 2014
Best Answer: Hi,

This defiantly seems odd, and I promise to look into the inconsistency. Ok: North Face lists an M as 39"-41" chest size, and Burton lists an M at 38"-40" This is relatively comparable. Note the fit style of the jacket you are looking at too, this can effect the fit. I hope this helps,

-Tim

A shopper on Oct 16, 2013
Best Answer: I'm 6'4", 211.5 lb (I checked last night), and have a 44" chest. The size large Burton Poacher Snowboard Jacket fits well, but I like to have a lot of room for layering/movement so I think that the XL works better.
