Caleb M: It's a thin jacket, I snowboard around Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah and always take something to wear under. The Burton jacket is really nice but not exactly made for warmth.(jacket +sweater =perfect for me tho) on warmer days the jacket is great by itself. Hope this helps. Dec 16, 2013

Jessi P: I would not rely on this alone to keep you warm. Great jacket but thin. My son layers it over sweatshirts so it works well. Waterproof and wind proof but not thick. Dec 12, 2013

Warren L: It is basically a shell and to keep warm in January you will likely need to pair it with a fleece (or other) mid layer. Dec 11, 2013

Jennifer M: Coat is very thin you would have to wear multiple layers underneath, I'm sure that it would cut the wind. I live in the midwest also. My son wanted this coat so I ordered it and when we got it he thought that it was too light. I ended up sending it back. Dec 12, 2013

A shopper asked: cannot tell the wormth of jacket?? Dec 12, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matt GStaff: The Burton Faction Snowboard Jacket is warmer than a traditional technical shell because of the 40g of 3M Thinsulate Insulation. Combine that with critically taped seams and 10k mm / 10k g of waterproofing and breathable than this jacket it near unstoppable. If you need extra warmth, it'll always be a good idea to layer.
